yeah eh!
might pay that next pay.
but in the mean time at work, i've been making the former on the lathe to make up some trumpets for the itbs.
will hopefully have a prototype trumpet tomorrow to show you all
oh and got some foam sock airfilters to suit the trumpets as well

those look so damn cool. now throw away that black box that's still sitting in your engine bay![]()
made the trumpets myself. just trial fitting before i weld them up properly tomorrow.
the black box will go soon.
the microtech has its own map sensor
Looks good but you need to tidy those spark plug cables a bit (Y)
My buckets!!!!!!!!! OMG so sexy
dropped the adaptor manifold at the machine shop to be milled flat since it warped during welding, they are also going to TIG weld the trumpets up properly.
and i picked up some nice new HT leads as well
new ht leads, how much did they cost?
and pics
haha sweet, i remember looking up how much honda wanted for them, they wanted some stupid price like $240 for a set
very true, i bought the cable and connectors seperately from appco to build my set of new leads, 8 or 9mm y0
damn you beat me to a working set of ITBS on a b20a. A few questions for you though. Why did you seal the stock injector location and keep the ITBs position instead of the other way around? What ITBs are those, wow those leave a ton of room in the engine bay. The intake mine is replacing is one of the largest we can even install. Very nice
sexamusplatipus!!!!!!! bukets are everywhere.

Sexamusplatipus indeed Eh!
takes all my will power not to slip MR winky in eh!lol
they arnt working yet, still have the ecu, injectors and tps to wire up,a few coolant hoses to delete and fuel and a couple other lines to sort out.
but i spose for all intents and purposes they are pretty much ready to go.
i only filled up the oem injector holes coz where the injectors would be is where the port spacings are the same, and also because the toyota injectors are 270cc and were with the manifold.
the itbs are a complete manifold and all set up off a toyota AE111 levin.
4AGE 20 valve black top motor.
the black top and silver top differ a wee bit.
the black top have 46mm throttle bodies and run a map sensor where the silver top are 44mm throttles and run an air flow meter.
it was a simple choice really, and for $200 bucks, a no brainer.
grand total, excluding the ecu is $350 nzd on the motor.
even with the trumpets and filters on, i prob still have 6 or 8 inches to the fir wall.
to tell the truth, i'm absolutely fuckin wrapped that its turned out like it has.
i looked at it as an experiment that might have cost me a few hundy if it didnt work out. and as luck would have it, its worked out well so far.
i could have made the leads for less $$ but for $70 it wasnt worth fucking around
thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated!
gives me motivation.
oh yeah, matt and aaron, will a gold top bolt straight in place of the black top? no mods at all?
a wrecker here has one i can have for $150 and it has about 150k on it.
has been there for years and he wants rid of it.
yeah it will bolt right in. if it's from a poolude, you might wanna swap the rear mount that bolts to the block/gearbox though
yeah its a poolude motor, but for $150 i cant realy turn it down eh!
yeah go for it just use all the mounts off your engine
really impressive...tell us how you are tunning that engine?

i have a microtech standalone fuel nd ign ecu to run it all.
am going to have to trailer it 2 hours up the road as there is no one in my home town that i would trust to tune it.
gong to keep the factory distributor and coil. will be using the toyota injectors, just coz they are heaps big enough for my needs.
i think for the small outlay, i'm going to get the gold top as it only has 90k on it.
it will prob go in at a slightly later date since i am going to do a mild port job and stick some bigger cams in it. i know i'll have to retune for new cams but since the base mapping will be done from using the black top, it shouldnt take to long
looking good man. with that microtech you should be alright. Plus since theyre close to you any problems should be worked out quickly.
Cant wait to hear how this sounds.![]()
