    Re: Blueprints?

Okay I ran the first op today (3 operations) and ran into a problem. We didn't have any stock wide nor thick enough, but ran the first op to make sure ever thing was gonna work right and give u some eye candy.

When i was running the part i though that it might be better to make two separate parts. One for the dizzy and one for the coolant. This would cut the cost down on material.

Give me a few to take some shots of what i ran today(girlfriend wont tell me were the camera is).

    Re: Blueprints?

That's going to be nearly impossible. Let's see what you have though. H is above the slot for the D-ring. How much would a suitable piece of stock be?

    Re: Blueprints?

I'll find out tomorrow how much it would be for the material. But i could make the two piece fit together like a puzzle would, no space between them.

The stock used was 1\2" in the pics.

Sorry missed your post, but thats a scan able part and no you wouldn't have to square an edge. Let me finish the project at hand before moving on to another.
While waiting on me you could make a design for the inside or something. Can engrave almost anything, words, drawings and so on.

The scan we have is 12"X16". Might be to big but not hard the get the dimensions from one. You got the flange with a bolt circle pattern A couple of angels and the lengths.

and i need to cut up a couple of bad nose gear forks for aluminum. i would have been doing this stuff for the site but we don't have anything cnc. it's all antique equipment. closest thing we have is an ancient index mill with a dro. we actually own brideport serial number 115 for the series one. thats since the 40's. and we own an ancient colburn vertical boring machine from 1916. i'm the only one who uses it. used to be overhead belt driven in the distant past. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...82766050716236 thats me with the ancient bridgeport

We have some older manual mills and lathes but i refuse to use them. I can wright a program, set the machine up and run the parts faster on a cnc then a manual. Thats only do to the cnc being able to use higher feeds, speeds and flood the tool. but i do give respect to those who do use manuals cause it does take a cretin skill level to use them unlike a cnc where u can pretty much stick someone one front of it that can use a set of calipers.

I think cnc's have made machinist lazy though, pretty much just hit start.

My address is 4005 Moor park ct apt 281 sun valley nv 89433. but like i said ill finish the dizzy adapter plate first.

thats cool,i enjoy the old machines, links to the past i guess. not many people can use machines that are old enough to be in a musesum. the colburn is a trip, loud as shit. it's one of those that you have to pack grease into the head gears all day, because that hadn't invented the modern grease seal yet. throws grease at you all day. the company that built it made steam engines in the time it was made.

    Re: Blueprints?

shit looks good so far crucial gonna be cool to see the final product. and as far as the replica dc sports bar we would really only need the mount pieces which have to be welded up no matter what. so strut bars i don't think are a good candidate for this type of work... you could always cut and reweld which is relatively easy and it's not like the dc's are that great of a design to copy so yeah. keep up the good work!

Any idiot with a welder could make a strut bar. I say we make some new tophats to run full bodied coilovers.

haha or custom lca's for camber issues?? or any myriad of parts that the 3g lacks in aftermarket support. i'm still goin with b-series mounts. that's probably the more important.

    Re: Blueprints?

Yeah, that's another good one. The problem is we bitch about the lack of availability of parts for our cars, but when the time comes to getting something made, most chief out. I would be very willing to help with the R&D on a project like that, but really there is probably only 2 or 3 on here that would benefit... It would be kinda cool to post the blueprints of such mounts, just to spite the tools that want to be "unique".
