You don't need to actually run the two piece, I would just like to see what you're trying to do on the computer model. After we make sure the everything lines up and figure out the keys, I'm going to want one for the other car, and probably an extra one or two. Thanks.

I also ordered some o-rings for the D slot, they fit perfectly.

    Re: Blueprints?

So heres the quote i on on material.

The reason that the price is so high is that it has to be cut out of a plate instead of being bar stock. We would be able to get 19 pieces out of a 12' length. So it would be about $16.00 per part for the material. This company does not charge shipping so the price you see is the price for it right now.

The price for aluminum is high atm so thats another factor.

    Re: Blueprints?

Wow, that's high. $16 is a lot better than $58 though. We would need to find some others to make this happen. I could pick up some of the extra plates, to later sell to the stragglers, but we'll still need more people. I don't really think we'll get them until we produce a tested product. What price are we looking at for the final product, including key?

    Re: Blueprints?

There will be a little over 6"s drop from the 12'. So that would leave 6"x6-1\2" stock to work with but I need an idea of how big the key would be to know what we need. As for the first part i think i found some aluminum to use for it. But its 1-1\2" thick so its gonna take a lot of milling to get it down to size ,but no biggie.(It's left over for a diffuser from a train turbo) On Friday i'm gonna try and make the whole part out of the material i found. Will let you know how it goes. Unfortunately my girlfriends parents are going to Australia for a week on Friday for a hog ride. So for free shipping we would have to wait till they get back I think.

Were you gonna get the studs and bolt?

The key will have a total height of 1.333" and will be 0.946" in diameter. We're probably going to want that made of steel. That's good that you found a piece for the prototype. Each plate will require 2 M8 x 25, 3 M6 x 25 flange bolts, 5 M8 studs and 5 M8 nuts. It all gets pretty expensive at honda and hardware store prices... Would you happen to know where I could get them in bulk?

Thanks, but we should try to figure out the details before taking people's money. Hopefully we will have the prototype so I can finish the measurements for the key. Then we can figure out how much a kit with all required o-rings and hardware would be. When the time comes to get the plate, your help would be much appreciated.

Did you look in MSC they sell almost everything, even automotive tools.

No go on making it tomorrow, all the machines are full.
My work schedule is from Monday -Thursday 6AM- 4:30PM, but there is a weekend and swing shift so no matter the day or time i have access to the shop but there has to be an open machine. I'll make the prototype as soon as possible.

All the tapped holes on the plate are 8.0 X1.25 MM right?

They only had the M6 bolts, in stainless.
No rush, I've got a good deal of suspension work that needs to get done next week.
Correct, tapped holes are M8 x 1.25. Thanks.

I was wanting to go with flange bolts to mount the plate and studs to mount the dizzy and thermostat housing, but that works out to be too damn expensive. Hex bolts with washers will do for everything.

    #6089 - Metric hex bolts, Metric full thread (tap) bolts, Steel grade 8.8, 8mm x 1.25 x 25mm Box(100) $11.72 $11.72
    #6090 - Metric hex bolts, Metric full thread (tap) bolts, Steel grade 8.8, 8mm x 1.25 x 30mm Box(100) $12.14 $12.14
    #6063 - Metric hex bolts, Metric full thread (tap) bolts, Steel grade 8.8, 6mm x 1.0 x 25mm Box(100) $11.42 $11.42
    #4527 - Metric flat washers, Steel grade 8.8, 6mm Box(100) $1.76 $1.76
    #4529 - Metric flat washers, Steel grade 8.8, 8mm Box(100) $3.17 $6.34

    Subtotal $43.38

Winds up being $56.49 with shipping... Not all the hardware will be used, so let's say $2.00 per plate, $5.00 including the 3 o-rings. You guys okay with that?

You know the price is still really low for a custom made cnc machined 6061 aluminum adapter plate with all the hardware.

Anyone can take measurements, add, multiply, divide. The real skill is in making a final product from a mess of numbers and a crappy drawing.

    Found some issues.

The top of the coolant hole dia. is .020 small and the distance from the bottom edge to the lip of the bottom hole is out .020. .020 is about the thickness of a finger nail. And the distance from the Y edge to the lip of the coolant hole is out by 0.0885.

    This is just to verify.

If you find any more problems let me know so i can fix them.

For the top coolant hole 0.37" should be 0.35". The distance from X to the lip of the bottom hole 1.15" is now correct. As for Y to the lip of the coolant hole being out 0.0885", that's about what I got when I remeasured. It will be fine.

Good job on catching those. I truly think we are ready to run now. Sorry for your extra trouble.
