Deck height is the measurement from the centerline of the crank to the top of the deck.
Must be a compression ratio type of question with the deck thing. Doubt anyone knows that specific measurement.

It is a very useful measurement to have, im sure someone must have measured a block before. I have measurements here for just about every other B series block.
The deck height measurement allows you to calculate compression ratios for different piston/rod/crank combinations.

Shop manual says 250 mm for block height, but guess that's not the same as the deck height?
is this teh deck height?
maybe it is matt, im glad someone has a b20 block lying about mines still in the ship getting its mods

There actually are engines that have "tall deck" in their name, for example the GM 366 industrial V8, referred to as the tall deck engine.

considering it was already explained in this thread i'll repeat it, it's the measurement from the center line of the crank to the top of the block deck... if you look on any engine spec it more than likely will tell you bore, deck height, etc...

yeah..thanks...but really i looked all over for it in the pual manuals pdfs...nothing it just says stuff like bore and stroke. i even went on prelude power trying to find something but i didnt...the wiseco guy said they made some b20a5 turbo pistons once so he used that mesurement

well i believe you can figure it out from the other measurements but i'm not 100% on that...

someone measure there factory unwhored motors deck height so i can add it to the B20A.org. someone that hasnt had their deck plained/skimmed
