asking junkyard rats to be on the lookout for me

asking junkyard rats to be on the lookout for me,for eithier a blue or black carpet in decent shape, from eithier a hatch or coupe, both have the same floor pan. my heater core went again, and it soaked coolant all the way from the heater core to the back floor pan. the carpet is 21 years old,and has to go!! going to have to remove it in the meantime. smells like a dead animal in my car from the carpet. any year 86-to 89 is the same. let me know what it will cost and i'll get it sent out to you,

New carpets are only $130 or so. Might be something to go for instead of having an old one shipped.

And for the record, black carpet only came with black interiors. Kind of rare.

i know the black carpet is rare, just in case someone runs across one while hunting, it shouldn't be that much to ship a carpet,i would buy a new one right now,but i don't have 130 bucks at the moment.

i got yah covered for this one lost, probally best with all the stuff you have done with your car is to get a new replacement.

    i reccomend this place, http://www.auto-interior.com/links.htm

i bought my carpet from these guys for my oldsmobile, i was really really pickey about the color being right and the heel pad also , i got it like 2 years ago with the heel pad and shipped for about $120 . i did notice that they have the carpet for the hatchies but not for the hatch area

well when i get the money,i'm going to get one from auto carpet originals. i've seen their stuff in person at the annual big car show here, have talked to the guy who owns the company as a matter of fact. i'm just seeing if someone spots something in the mean time until i can get one. as far as the carpet in the hatch area, thats all custom, theres nothing factory there at all. it's just the main carpet area. right now my main areas of concern are finishing the paint, and getting the alignment finished, and my wheels back on. with those steel wheels on the front, one of them is bent, and i can't go over 50 miles an hour. they are temporary is all. just looking for something in reasonable shape for use in the meantime.

ya know, you could just rip out the carpet, then the back seat, then all the plastic stuff... weight reduction FTW!!!

most carpet places that have been in buisness for a while will do them, they have a mold for each floor pan, so they just make them when someone orders one. normally the rare ones, they don't have in the warehouse, they just make them to order. The company summit racing has in their catalog carries our car,as well as jc whitney.

Re: asking junkyard rats to be on the lookout for me

I've ordered carpet from http://www.1aauto.com/1A/Carpets for two different vehicles, the Honda, and my 96 Ram. Odd thing is, I havent installed the carpet in either one lol. But the carpet that came was top notch quality. Has the correct heel pad, molded to fit the floor pan, etc. I ordered the matching floor mats to go with both and the backing on the mats is thick as hell, and has heavy duty looking gripper spikes moled into the back so they wont slide around.

I HIGHLY recommend their carpets, and their customer service was always on the ball with replying to emails and such.....

Wow, kinda nice to have a GOOD review of a company lol.

I looked for about two hours last week dude, the closest I found was the audi fox vw wheel. That was a 4X100 for sure? I have seen it on something, seems like it was european, or possibly an omni/horizon

Re: asking junkyard rats to be on the lookout for me

link back to the bent wheel please, I forgot where it was.
I like these^^^ better than that bent one. IMO on those vane type spokes that protrude out from the rim, look rice, and they hit curbs before the outer rim or tire does. Curbs just move in our way sometimes..

Hmm.. you sure? I think the only difference is the finish. I don't think they were that shiny originally. Seen them on a few other 2geez, but I'm pretty sure those are SE wheels, maybe there are other 2g optional wheels that are the same with that flatter finish... Wish I had more pics of '83 SE's, but they're practically non-existent... I'll see if I can get a better shot, or find some other 2geez with those wheels.

Re: asking junkyard rats to be on the lookout for me

hmm i might just keep my integra sawblades,i thought of painting them white, with black inserts, since the car will be black and white anyway, i also found 3 of the chrome honda center pieces that pop in,the ones with the black and chrome H. i already had one at home so it's a full set now. maby leave them chrome or paint them white, and repaint the H with striping paint?

Re: asking junkyard rats to be on the lookout for me

I think just painting them white without the black would look better than two painted colors on one wheel.

i was just talking about the parts that are recessed, in factory form the wheel is silver with black inserts,if the inserts are white they will look like crap in five minutes due to brake dust.
