Your engines bay looks colorful! And nice project. This is much better than trying to patch the stock one. But not all of us have your abilities to build stuff.

What our cars really need is a low-coolant warning light. Because the bottle is lowdown and probably crudded up, too many people don't bother to check the coolant level. If there's a leak somewhere, the level in the bottle drops, and when it is exhausted then the radiator level starts to drop. If it's a f.i. car the idle control will start to malfunction because of air bubbles, and if you ignore that, then eventually things will overheat. I'd guess a lot of head gaskets have been lost to this chain of events.

If there was a way to flash a light when the coolant bottle emptied it would save a lot of heartache and sorrow.

I just thought of this, Lincold town cars from the 90's have a low oil sensor, I dont know if it would work on coolant, but I'm going to look into it
