Alright so last tuesday my car started to smoke a shit load from under the hood. I was on the freeway and once i hit traffic the smoked started to come out of the hood. The water temperature started to rise rapidly so i pulled over into the shoulder. It was dark and i couldn't see anything. I noticed water or some type of fluid on the floor and slowly dripping. The radiator wasn't full as well. I couldn't inspect the problem at night so i went ahead and called my parents to get me a AAA tow (free tow).
So yesterday after working on my 240sx, i went ahead to diagnose the problem on my great daily driver. I top off the radiator with a 50/50 mix of coolant. I started her up and started idling high, as usual (is this normal 2500rpm then 2000 after a blip, 1500 after another small blip, then to 1000?). So im warming her up and i look under and i see its leaking a lot of fluid. The radiator cap was left open and the fluid was slowly going down, even with the thermostat still closed. I looked around and i noticed this hose was spewing out lots of fluid. The fluid was getting on the block and exhaust manifold/header causing it to smoke.
right under carb near the firewall
hose comming out of the coolant outlet on the head (possibly a type of heater hose?
I felt around and the other end of the hose connects to right under the carb. Looks like an easy fix which i am capable of doing. Does anyone know what this hose is called and what it is used for exactly? Does anyone have the parts number for this hose?
it kinda looks like this hose taken from partsamerica.com (kragen)
If anyone can help me out, that would just be awesome!
