    16's is slow...
    I get the point... lol

There ain't much I could do without swapping over to a manual trans.

    and I still don't have a header.

    giving up

Iam giving up on my Accord , there is not enough aftermarket support for are cars. Once i get my engine swap done iam doing custom CAI, 2.25 exhaust, pacesetter header and later down the road i might get a cam and 18" rims. Iam not really trying to post good quarter mile times but improve the car a little. Our cars are too heavy and we dont have a great engine to start with. Ive read the post on here for about 6months and decide are cars pretty much suck for quarter mile performance. So my accord will be my main transportation and later on i want to get a 92 civic cx(@2000lb), swap in a h22 (200hp) and strip it down and have a little ricer to F around with. Eventually i would like to turbo the civic but probably not until i blow the orginal h22 engine then i could do the engine work to bring it to the turbo realm.

    just my thoughts and opinion

hey mantis, what sorts of weight reduction have you done? i am looking to make my car lighter as well... what do you suggest? i know losing my 2 10" subs would help, but i plan on removing them if i race anyway! lol...

since my car isnt powerful, i can at least try to make it lighter!

strip everything out of the trunk, remove rear seats, passenger seat, A/c compressor, cruise control, run 13 inch steelies, thats all i can think of right now but u get the point,

also i noticed it seem like i got the best run when i had all my windows up. i guesss it decreases drag cuz with em down air gets caught inside and slows ya down.

    hope i was some help.

i guess lowering your car a bit lower will help also cuz it will be more arodynamic. some people may say different but i think 2'' drop is the best for racing, handling and daily driving,

also stiffer springs will help, cuz when the car changes gears there is less pitch, so more power gets to the tires and doesnt die off in the suspention

    eh? frp?

yeah i am lowererd with H&R springs, but its only 1.5-1.75"

when i DO take it to the track i will take out all extra seats, subs, amps, spares etc.. but i dont know if i want to drive around all the time like that! hehe and i DO run 13" steelies! hehe.... since i cant afford real wheels.

My best so far has been an 18.1 at 76.something MPH...SHITTY! But the way the track does it makes it more "street-like" so the tree falls funny and you can't guess it very well. Considering I had a reaction time of 1.1s it's real bad. Then I went out again, the clutch slipped and I missed the 1-2 shift. I hate my trans...it doesn't like shifting very well. If I had any money I'd find myself a Prelude tranny and be done with it. Of course if I had a lot of money I'd be thinking B series....

if you're going for good qm times and still want keep a decient street car... dont go with honda... dont get me wrong here... Im a die hard honda fan but by the time you do a swap w/ mods you could have easly bought a stock 11-12 sec car with more potential and other added goodies... such as AWD... Start off with a 95 Talon AWD turbo... or in the RWD catagory... an older Rx7... or the car that I'm saving for... 91 supra inline 6 cly turbo... It doesnt make sence to put well over 14k into a car when you get more for $6000... just my opinion....

i dont think many people here plan to, or even COULD spend 14kon the 3g, if they could, they wouldnt be driving the 3g.

and youre right, if i wanted a true drag car, i would get a talon, mmm... 4g63 w/20g turbo

but i doubt it will take me many $$$ to get flat 15's, which is my goal/. hopefully it wont take too much money, or i will have to settle with 16.0 ack!

PS, boredrec, do you have any mods?

Mods: Custom CAI, muffler, and that's about it. Right now I'm too poor to afford anything else. Oh yeah, it's lowered an inch or so.
