climate controls

ok guys,i found a hatch in the j/y with push buttons contols for heater.but it is carbed and mine is efi.do i need the whole heater unit and will the harness for the control work for me or will mine already have what i need.

I don't have a clue if it can be done.Are the controls you have now all mechanical or are they electricaly controled.At the least you would need electrical schematics for the car you took the controls out of and a set for the car you are putting them in.Compare the connections and if possible get the connectors for the push button controls and start splicing wires.Good luck.Mark

well the h/b in the j/y is a U.S. car and mine is canadian.its an exi which is the same as the lxi.its supposed to have push buttons but the guy i got the car from had two of them.so i don't know if he swapped parts out of both cars or what.its gettiong too cold here to check this stuff out now,might have to wait til spring or try the 4th gen controls instead.
