intermitent starting problem

i have an 89 accord lxi that has very funny problem sometimes ill pullover somewhere and cut off car then when i try to start it back it will hit once and start up then die after that starter will turn over and over without hitting another lick.but u can walk away come back 10-15 mins. later it will start right up. have changed distributor,fuel pump and have checked it when it wont start and its getting fire if some1 has had this problem or heard of it please please help look pretty dumb sitting in a parking lot when car wont start with the nice paint job just had put on it thx http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2960455
