    Spoiler Project

Well I found a spoiler on the back of a 92 sentra while at the junk yard. I pulled it and compared it to a 3gee that was a few feet away and thought it was just right. The person that installed it had damaged it. It is mainly metal with plastic side pieces. It had some sort of black cloth glued to it. So I have sanded it and started using bondo to fill the dents that it had.
    Here are some pics:

    Before sanding

    Some of that damn cloth:

After sanding and preping for body filler:

    Re: Spoiler Project

I figure this would be good practice before I start fixing the damage on my car from my two accidents. Once I finish it I have to decide to sell it or put it on my own car.

    Re: Spoiler Project

sorry no LED. I wish it had one. The legs (for lack of another term) have a bolt that goes through and the head of the bolt can slide anywhere along the length of the spoiler. I think I may have found a part number under some of the paint. It was had etched. I'll see if google can tell me anything.

    Some more pics:

With my favorite hat (got a little dirty):

Sat it on my car (It gets the bondo next):

    One end top:

    And the bottom:

The end pieces had a little door that slid in that I molded in with the bondo.

    Re: Spoiler Project

I found it poorly installed on a 92 nissan sentra. I believe that it is aftermarket due to the fact that it has the adjustable mounting points. The hardware consisted of an oversized bolt, lock washer and the correct bolt to hold that all on. The number on the bottom did not show any results when I searched.

    Re: Spoiler Project

I was thinking of cutting the mounts so that it sits lower and maybe hangs off the back slightly. Or I could have it at a steeper angle. Opinions appreciated.

    Re: Spoiler Project

i think you should definitely cut the mounts a tad so it sits lower. I think it would look pretty good about half the height that it currently is. Good work though.

That looks like the one I just took off my trunk lid, and by the description sounds like the same one too!

The curve on mine didn't match up very well to the back edge of the trunk.

Mine also has some rubber strips that fit into the tracks on the underside of the spoiler between the legs and from the legs to the outer tips.

I think you have it back far enough but it would look better IMO if it were not sailing so high.

    Re: Spoiler Project

I think I will cut about an inch off the mounts and see how that looks. The nice damage on my car was caused when an F-150 clipped. The honda drove home while the truck had to be towed.

    Re: Spoiler Project

Well I decided not to cut the mounts as I am going to sell it. I started to spray it with duplicolor all purpose primer. I'm hoping for 50 plus shipping. Will post a thread in for sale later after it is in primer.

i know what spoiler you are talking about

very simmilar to the one's that were/are on G-body Hurst olds

lauren engineering has a few pictys http://www.laureneng.com/1253223.html

after finding that pict i forgot about the concept Fe3-x concept car had a adjustable rear spoiler that i think would work with some extensive mods on hatchies

    Re: Spoiler Project

Not an olds spoiler. Has only the single bolt on each mount. The diagram on that site showed two. Still need to do more sanding and finish the primer.

wow gp02a003 the ones in that link are REALLY close!
Irondragon13 when you get done with it bring it to work with you or something and I will swing by an look at it, I may want it for the 'new' DX. I think those look good when they are low almost touching the decklid like on those Cutlass's in the link.

(btw gp02a003 how in the heck do you remember your screen name, lol )

yah i thought it looked close b/c us g-body olds members usually have a hard time with the end parts b/c the original spoilers are 3 parts, the main and two ends. Thought it looked familiar b/c olds spoilers for the 80's are typically low to the deck.

i remember my s/n quite easily, gundam- gp02a year 0083 that simple i get alot of people tho thinking its a spammer's s/n or something

    Re: Spoiler Project

Taken me a while but I am done with this spoiler. I have some better pics since I got a digital cam for x-mas. My dad somehow lost the bolts when he cleaned up our garage. they were some generic bolts that you could get from a hardware or auto store.

See Dark Accord's post on the second page for pics. He fixed the sizing.

    Re: Spoiler Project

The legs can be positioned anywhere along the channel on the bottom of the main part. I just used the gap between the rear lights to line it up in the photo. You can see the channel in the first pic I posted.
