I know about the silver fitting I'll paint it too haha.

The valve is so that the exhaust will only suck air through the can instead of pushing exhaust up it.

Well, greddy made the can but I modified it haha, although I could of made one for cheaper probably.. oh well. I hope to one day to be able to get the tools needed for those types of things!

I appreciate the comment's guys! I have to go to the junk yard at some point to look at some accords, I think I may have wired the alternator wrong but I don't know.. I'll have to pull the dash out to double check.

    Looks good!

If you do need anything smaller tig welded (aluminum or steel), feel free to toss it in a box with a few Lauriers or a Queen Lizzie and send it on down to the 604 and I would be happy to do it for you.

Why are you checking the electrical system so closely and what makes you think you wired the alt wrong?...I hope you didnt cross the intake air temp sensor with the white and red wire from the alt...lol i almost did.

I am checking it closely because there have been many modifications done, and I want to make sure thing's check out instead of turning the key over and hoping nothing melts. I figured out what I thought was the problem(mixed up the eld location), I won't be able to confirm it until I get a new battery though. I think I'll go outside today and work on a couple small projects in the mean time.

    Thanks man.

I keep going to the store to price things out..

I also think I am going to go with moates demon and neptune.. the thing is I already own the moates honda tuning kit. I'd really prefer to have the all in one demon instead of all this other stuff hanging about, so maybe I'll sell it off so I can break even'ish. So maybe I'll try to sell some stuff to try and get this moving along..

    I want to drive already!

I bought coolant and oil, and some extra bits. I also cut up the black box and got a breather on there now... going to try and fire it up tomorrow night!

    I will, that's great!!

Well, she was a no go.

Got everything in the cabin working, blower, windows, etc. however.. in the engine bay the aem fuel stuff decided to leak enough to be a pain the ass and lose fuel pressure slowly. I tried to tighten everything down and change out the washers(provided by aem, aluminum) to copper ones, it got better but still leaks where the fuel line comes into the rail and then the FPR base. Well, the cylinders were getting fuel regardless but there is no spark, there is no power going to the coil(black/yellow wire has nothing) and I am not sure why.. it looks like I have to tear apart the wiring to figure it out. Ugh!

Nope.. not yet, I still have to poke around. I hope to do some tests on sunday and make sure thing's are correct. I followed the instructions correctly for the MSD box, so I am wondering if it's bad? I don't know.. I am hoping I just missed something simple haha.

    Re: 87roach's 1987 S Hatch Build

Well.. after poking around I have figured a few things out but I am still at a blank.

First, the MSD box is getting battery power and ground. The red and white are hooked up correctly and I have tested for power at the MSD box itself and the distributor. However.. there is no power coming from the orange wire that goes to the coil(or the black for that matter).

I have been testing this all on key turn two(and off to make sure it goes off).

Do you think the MSD box could be bad? Did I miss something? I have everything in order.. I just want to start my car

Your sure you have the switch wire connected?
And have you tryed unplugging the plug and plugging it again? maybe a bad connection

    Re: 87roach's 1987 S Hatch Build

If by switch you mean the black/yellow, then yes I am sure it is connected. I have tried unplugging what I can and no change.

I have another MSD box, it's older but I think I will try testing with it anyway.. if that doesn't work then I'm not really sure where to go.

    Thanks for the tip.

does it have a cam censer in the dizzy if so make sure your resistance vales are correct
and is it the same style coil from before you went obd1?

    Re: 87roach's 1987 S Hatch Build

I don't know the resistant values, hmm.

The coil was stock before it last ran, I then changed to the MSD 6A and a blaster coil.

Tonight I tried another MSD box and another coil. I disconnected the original box and hooked up the other one, still no spark. I tried it with the other blaster coil and nothing. There is no power(with the key on) to either black or orange coming from either MSD box, however... when I disconnect the MSD box I installed in the car(no battery power and no ground, but still red and white hooked up), there is power to the orange and black.

Sounds pretty confusing but the end result is still the same... no spark. I'm not sure where to go from here.. try to reinstall the stock coil? Maybe wiring to do with the distributor?

I would get rid of the msd box all together. If ur obd1 just get a solid tune on the car and u wont have to deal with this headache.

What tim said is correct, You dont need the msd box. Just use the external blaster coil and a good tune. I have not forgot about you on the base map. I just havent had time lately.

    Re: 87roach's 1987 S Hatch Build

Okay, thanks for the tips guys.

I always wondered if it was needed or not..

I think the question still stands though as to which I hook up to the coil(which to positive which to negative, are any resistors needed, etc.). So if I delete the MSD box, the only thing left will be the two Black/Yellow(which are joined together), and the two Blue(which are also joined together). Since the wiring is no longer stock.. that's where it leaves me. I'll wait to hear back before I go hooking up the wrong things!

    Thanks again.

No rush on the basemap, I won't be able to purchase the demon until next month anyway.
