    Re: 87roach's 3g wip

Im not sure what all you have done without reading thru the whole thread, which I will do in a little while. It kinda sounds like electronic timing issue which involves the MAP sensor , TPS, IAT, and CT sensors. All of those will keep the tip in timing retarded until they like the conditions.
If you have an advancing timing light you can log your timing at a range of rpms to see if you are getting proper advance. If not you can still use a regulart timing light and kind of make a determination if it is advancing at all up to 2500 rpm. Just watch the timing mark with the light, it should move on past your idle setting when you gas it.

    Re: 87roach's 3g wip

Well it's time for an update.

So far I have driven 160km and everything is pretty good, I need an alignment though. A couple minor leaks but nothing a couple washers wont fix(except for that one tranny seal.. rebuild in the future anyhow).

Got the last 50sq of B-Quiet in, I doubled up the whole floor and pretty much used the whole thing(probably like 6ft left or so) so the whole car took 150sq.

Also the rear seat panels from the 86 hatch I grabbed are different from the 87 ones.. who would of though. It's so minor but the top part of the panel is different for where the seatbelt goes in, anyway.. I couldn't get them in so I had to put back in the old ones so im rockin half black and half maroon.

New Razo 270mm Convex mirror, its pretty cool but takes some getting used to.

I'm LOVING the new interior, it's a great colour and everything is nice and solid, and the seats kick ass. Oh and I got the door glass tinted with 35%(its illegal here), looks damn awesome though. Got some more goodies on the way, hope they get here soon.

    Finally just saw this post.

I just have a regular timing light, and when I gas it it moves. I set the timing back to normal and then I advanced my cam gear 1 degree. So far its better then it was, it doesn't totally bog/stutter down anymore but it still has a bit of a weird stutter/hesitation(slight) but sometimes its so little.. just not smooth at all. I still have this rolling idle and it's aggrivating me.. I need to get it fixed. Oh and the CEL pops on pretty much after it gets warm, around 10-15mins of driving. I'm not sure if makes a difference, I haven't really noticed too much yet. I also only have 200km on it and it seems to get better the more I drive it.. still some tweaking to do forsure.

shit! ....my hatch is the exact opposite of yours on the interior. Ironically, it's identical on the outside though.

I have all the black plastics on from the doors back, including the hatch area, and have black seats.

If you weren't so damn far away I'd def sell it all to you for peanuts just to support your cause. After all, my hatch will be void of it's interior next year if everything goes as planned (fingers crossed).

Can't say it enough, that's a hatch that's been done right from day 1 of your project. My hat goes off to you for your dedication and work.

btw... ...just curious, how much weight does that 160 ft² add up to?

edit: one more thing. what size are those wires? I'm curious because i like that bracket, but can those clips hold 10.5 or 12mm wires?

Thanks very much! Those are the only 2 maroon plastics, the one behind the doors, the rest is grey(a bit lighter then the rest but works) and the seat of course.

The UPS box for the 50sq says 16lbs, so 48lbs total(given that ups is accurate), however I took out all the stock stuff which weighed a good bit.. I would say at least half that anyway. It added a couple pounds, I don't think it's a big deal. The cab sounds great and the music is better, I can't hear any road noise but my exhaust is still pretty loud and it reverberates quite a bit which can be annoying at higher rpm's.

As for the wire holder, I don't know what sizes it can hold but I will take a picture. It was a bit of a squeeze to get those in there so don't hold your breath.

Thanks very much man, that means a lot. Perhaps after a fresh paint job I might take that title!

    Re: 87roach's 3g wip

Mark theres no way it would hold a fat wire like that, unless you drilled out the holes.. but then I imagine you could just get another one that was made for those sizes. (It's sold by the way)

Stoked for this to arrive finally, HELL YEA!

Wheel was pretty easy to install, the pedals however are a bitch. Sorry for the dark pics, I really need a new cam one of these days.

    Re: 87roach's 3g wip

Well I'll be honest, the clutch was a bitch I got the bottom screw right through the pedal and the top on half way through and managed to slip the nut into a slot. The brake was the easy one.. drill two holes and your done. The gas was the real cock, I only got the top screw through because you can't take the pad off, the bottom screw I just drilled a whole put some puddy in the whole and jammed a screw in there. Should hold up for a bit.. if not I will have to drill right through the damn thing or just take it off and do it that way.

I wont lie, installing those things was a headache.

Thanks for the props, I really love them! The wheel is a bit smaller but it feels nice and looks kick ass haha. Now hopefully the sun will come out so I can do a real photoshoot!

Wow another great buildup thread I just got in on.

I love the black interior!! Reminds me of my 96 GSR Integra, it was black on black and black inside too lol.

Your car has turned out amazing. I cant imagine how nice it would all come together with a new paintjob and some "cleaning up" or, removing trim and smoothing out the body would make it look. Now that I got me a parts car, Im soon to get back into my project. Unfortunately its so late in the year I'll only get a little done before it gets too cold to work out there for a while. My house is only 11 years old, but the cheap bastards that built it did not put insulation in the walls of the garage. So, it's frigging freezing out there in the winter, and it's an oven in the summer. I'm tempted to rip out the sheetrock, and totally re-do my garage this spring if work kicks back up and I get some more OT checks next year.

    Kudos on an awesome build!!!!

Thanks RamThis, the bodywork is next in line.. let the saving begin. Your build is going to be awesome, can't wait to see it!

Messy, I got my stuff off ebay since no one local around here has the goods.

Part # for the hub: 4903 (Prelude 83-91)

The horn still works, the middle part of the wheel is the button. It came with the wires to adapt it to the new wheel.
