Thats gotta suk. Did it go with a bang or just die?! Does reverse work!?

what does it do if u put it in gear without the clutch?? can u hear the gearbox makin any noises with the engine running and does the nosies change when your clutch pedal is pressed? Your new clutch might have been bad

    Re: tranny dump

there had to be some kind of gut wrenching noise, your talking main input shaft broke or transaxle diff.... IF NOT
then the clutch was out of adjustment the whole time, not fully enguaged, so now it is just slipping. It may be possible to get some adjustment so you have a little free play so you know it is not like you have your foot slightley in the pedal.

    Re: tranny dump

Can you put it in gear with the eingine runing and without pressing the clutch?
Check the tranny, make sure that it is maked up to the engine correctly, you may have lost a bolt or tow and the trans is separating from the engine.
Check your axles, if you broke an axle or one slipped out of the tranny, you will have the problem you describe.
Check the cable, and the actuator at the tranny.. make sure something's not bound up..
Is there any pressure on the clutch when you press it?
Check the shiter linkage and torque rod... get under the car and make sure all that is still attached at the tranny and the shifter.

Honestly sounds like you may have missed something when you put the clutch in.

If not, then the input shaft broke, and you'd have major noise going on..

Did you just replace the clutch disk and TO bearing or did you replace the pressure plate as well?

    Re: tranny dump

You would hear something if an axle is at fault. when my CV broke it made a clatering noise lol

i recon it has to be your clutch. Gearboxes just dont break silently

    Re: tranny dump

    good thread
coupe if you can put it in gear, engine off, and then start it up in gear without pressing in the clutch... and still nothing ..no jump forward, no noises either.. it would be my guess an axle popped out, or broke or the transmission is not connected to the engine.

    Re: tranny dump

Since the clutch was the last thing you worked on I'm guessing it's a clutch problem. I think you're pretty much going to have to pull the trans and investigate.
