    ECU without CE light?

My ECU is blinking 6 times but the check engine light isn't on. I replaced the ECT sensor but it's still doing it and my idle's still crappy. What's going on?

Do you have a way to take a reading of it with a meter maybe ?

ive noticed that the check engine light will only come on if the error codes are somewhat important. I take it the engine coolant temperature sensor isnt that important lol. I wood not know how to fix it tho. I should work if u put a new one in... right

I'd probably have to take it to a shop and pay $100 for diagnostics. $100 just figure out what's wrong. I hate that shit.

    Re: ECU without CE light?

The ECU will only light the CEL light if it sees the problem at the moment the car is running. If you turn off the car and start it again, the CEL will remain off until the ECU sees the problem again.

However, the ECU stores the code in it's memory so you can diagnose the problem later.

Maybe I should reset the ecu and see if the code comes back, what fuse do I need to pull to do that?

Okay, I'm stupid. I disconnected the battery to put a new one and that reset the ECU. The code no longer comes up so I guess all I had to do is reset it.
