    Unknown Hose

hey i have this hose that i have no clue where it goes. it comes from the charcoal canister, im pretty sure thats what its called. when i was taking off my carb i found it just hanging there it had a brass fitting on it, and it looked like it had broken off. I have looked in my Haynes manual but it is so hard to understand the diagrams.

I'm pretty sure that just goes up into your air cleaner. It basically is the tube that takes the gas fumes back OUT of the charcoal canister to get reburned. At least, I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

    Re: Unknown Hose

it uses those fumes to help start the car, basically gas evaporates fairly fast, rather than just expel the fumes into the atmosphere, honda decided that it would try and capture as much as it can, and use it to help start the car. might not be that much during a cold day, but say a really hot day (do they have hot days in Canada, hahahahaa) the gas evaporates a bit quicker. car doesnt need it really, but it helps and hell, you've payed for the gas, might as well get as much as you can outta it!
