lol. i think i need to get another parts car and replace a few panels, i have new doors to put on that are hopefully tidier than the ones on there now, but i really need a new rear bumper it ruins the look of the rear of the car having that big dent in the bumper above the exhaust. To be honest with you i really need a new chassis, This ones bent in the rear from when the exhaust fell off the 1st time, the bootlid, body and bumper dont line up with each other anymore no matter what i do

haha its kind of a pain in the ass but it fast as when you know the fastest way to get the accords engine out, All i do is just undo the lower ball joint and pull the CVs out, undo the gear shifter and thats all the hard stuff done. Today i need to put the B20A head onto the B18 Block, fun

Shes a minter, running it on the b20a efi currently and it runs sweet, feels as fast as the b20 was no extreme smoking either, Clutch is a bit of a beast

its a b20a thing i guess if you thrash it the rings fuck out, i suspect something to do with the fail rod/stroke ratio putting pressure on the rings??

    Re: AccordB20A's 2.0Si F1 Edition Build

well ive heard back from the engine rebuilders, So far i owe them $560, this is for modification of the b16a2 pistons to the b20a rods, hone the block install and gap the rings, when i sell this other accord i have ill pay that then ill put the head into them to get reconditioned, So its finally underway, and having moved house and getting 2 flatmates makes me all of a sudden 200+ dollars a week richer so this cars going in the shed this winter and is going to see some progress, Starting with a few bits and bobs from our beloved member A18A.
Next weekend ill be taking the 1100km round trip up to his place to collect 4 mind doors for my car since mine are dented and fucked, ill also be taking a pile of parts off the g1 crx he has for parts to make mine a better car, i can pre fscelift it again and give it popups woot.

Anyways this week the accord is in the shed prepairing for the trip, Today i put the OBD1 ecu in it, Im going to run it off the civics b18b ecu so the fuel map matches the engine so i can actually get some good fuel milage up there and back haha, So far so good i just need to sort out this idle mixture ajustment pot error code 11 i have and ill be all good to go

    bugger ya aaron
if i knew you were heading up to whangas a week ago i would have sent you some louvers to take to matt. cheaper to ship to stratford than north of dorkland.
and yu could have bought back a climate control he has for me and sent it with a certain ecu

    Re: AccordB20A's 2.0Si F1 Edition Build

RIGHT heres some pics, What i did tonight was get rid of the last of the error codes i had, i basically got my OBD0 to OBD1 harness and installed the IMA sensor into it onto pins D10, D20 and D22.

This is the ima sensor (sometimes called a CO adjusting POT) basically a variable resister like a volume knob that adjusts the idle mixture on a car with no cat or 02 sensor (EDM)

this is my harness that im wiring it into

done, and by by error code WOO FUCKING HOO

Okay so the next problem i had was my digital dash, Because the fuel used counter reads from the ecu i had to do some mods (after i actually figured out how it worked) Ill share it with you. Maybe thegreatdane will do this to make his one work.

1st i took my rare as PH3 gold top MT ecu and took it apart

i saw by looking at the plug that goes into the ecu on my cars body loom one wire that went from the dash to the ecu, i decided that HAD to be the wire it senses fuel usage through. it goes in the ecu through pin B3 which is not labelled on any of the pin outs.

heres what i did next.. I followed pin b3 on the ecu circuit board to see where it went. this is what i found:
All it does, is goes through a 10k ohm resister inside the ecu and hooks into the output for injector number 2. i got some pics and edited them so you guys could see what i mean.
(the tracks were on both sides of the ecu so i have two pics)

and the underside of the ecu:

I opened by OBD1 ecu and studied it, no pins did this so i presumed that OBD1 ECU's did not support this feature, So what i did was got a 10k resistor from a computer power supply:

    soldered some wire to it

found and cut the grey wire going to pin b3 on my body loom (Not recommended to do this, Should have really done this in the converter harness but i fucked the pin on b3 so i coudlnt)

i hooked my wire with the resistor to the grey wire and spliced it into the red wire to injector number two, pretty much doing what the ecu does inside it.

Here it is done, i used vacuum hose temporarily over the resistor to cover it in case it shorted:

Then i took the car for a drive and sure enough, My fuel usage counter worked again just like it used to. mean

So there you have it, my cars now fully running OBD1 mintly, it even idles nice with the IACV.

goodnight friends im going to bed this has been a busy night.
