well that's better than turning the key over and having no compression or something lol

lol. just came back from a drive. i broke it in the hard way, full throttle, full decel varying the revs (not revving the shit out of it) for the first 50kms then i started giving it more and more shit.
Ive done 260kms on it so far and all appears to be fine, blows no smoke etc etc
are you obd1 already?

yep been obd1 for a while now. using my stock dizzy works sweet.
here some pics i didnt post up of the completed engine minus intake. When i pulled out the old motor i found this about to fail on me along with a fucked heater hose that was about to blow and my map sensor hose was split.

totally sweet
Cool like the work done shame you didn't have enough for some headwork to be done but i bet it runs great again better than the old smoker! Whats the compression like on this new build? You getting 180-190psi or more?
Also quick question do you happen to know what the wrist pin size is on the B18A you used before? I like the flat top pistons in it thinking about using those on my B20A race engine build as UK B20A has 20mm wrist pins unlike JDM B20A which has 22mm
Anyone know a part number for them and if they do a 81.5mm oversize would be much appreciated!
Have no idea about the compression yet, when its run in ill put the compression tester on her and see what it says maybe this weekend.
with the b18a wrist pin im guessing its the same as the JDM b20a since the motors are pretty identical apart from being 1800cc with the different crank or rods

Yes but you would have thought that UK B20A would have had the same wrist pins and rods too! lol! As a B18a is a lot less powerfull I'm suspecting that it has the same pin size as mine. Well hoping anyway! lol! If you ever strip that one down for spares or being bored let me know what they are! thanks.
Carotman/Robt if you know what they are please tell!
i might even have some pistons around somewhere off one of the other engines i have pulled apart. ill have a look but i dunno. I wont be pulling my old b18a motor to bits as its a good runner and made good power, only smokes when your giving it 7000rpm
That would be great if you can find something to check size. So howmany ludes you guys got over there now?
Hows new engine still running great rings should be near to bedding in soon!
done around 470kms on this engine now, clicking is still there on acceleration, other than that the motor runs fine, makes good smooth power and burns no oil /coolant
and its due for another damn oil change FUUUUUUU i think the metal shavings have gone now. Id like to sort out that clicking noise on the #3 cylinder but its not getting any worcer/louder so im in no hurry
How do you know it's number 3? Could be piston slap maybe bore is smidge too big for the piston you put in, also could be a badly adjusted tappet try readjusting or checking again.
What oil weight are you using? Maybe it's too thin if it's fully sythetic or a lighter weight semi 10w40 is recommended by Honda and tends to be a bit thicker than modern oils.
You say you got metal shavings in the oil? have you got a picture? Shouldn't get anything other than a few mettalic like particles inside the filter if you opened it up, if you got flakes in the pan sounds like a bearing has gone.
no flakes, just metalic shit like you said in the oil that was in the 1st oil changed which i swapped out after i first started it up and took it around the block
the noise goes away when you remove the spark plug lead off the cylinder
PICS!!!!! Got some new tyres today, Decdied to go up a couple of sizes. 215-45-17's. bigger for grip and to correct my speeedo.
I HAVE A NEW CAMERA TOO well its old but its mint chur
Anyways i just changed its oil again
and my shiny ish engine
and my dirty car looking like a 4X4 on the big tyres
i needed to lift the car and roll the inner guard lips for the tyres to fit. but i think i can lower the car back down a bit now and it will clear.

ill give it a wash tomorrow. and maybe ill roll the guards and lower it again haha. only thing about guard rolling is the paint will chip but thats okay with me. low is good
well its washed but im too lazy to pull the shocks out and lower it again. i dont wanna fuck up my new tyres. i already scraped the fuck out of one on the way home from the shop (before i raised it and bashed the guard lips in)
Hoping a little bit more guard rolling and the extra camber from going lower will tuck the wheels under when i go over bumps and not groove my tyres again.
fuck you double post
roll your fenders. you dont want chunks of the tires falling off
