    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

Well, if you use the PR4, it's already tuned for that exact same engine (well almost)

I don't think you guys got the OBD0 PR4 tough.

    Yup, OBD0 B18A1

BTW, any OBD2 dizzy from a Non-Vtec B series Engine will fit our B20A for an OBD1 conversion.

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

heres some pics, this car has been in the shed for a month but last night i got it out and put the axles in it. The B18A engine in it is still requiring its head gasket replaced but it runs for now i basically only put the axles so i can move it around the yard and give it a wash::
    pics are dead..

would be good photos if my brand new camera would work

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

guess what. its TIME FOR AN UPDATE, but since my image server is down for maintenance there will be no working pics.

right, im borrowing a motor to stick in my car until my new engine is built, My mate has two spare B20A engines, one he bought from a guy that he had rebuilt, and the other one our of a prelude he just bought for parts. i dont know what one to use, the rebuilt one would be nice lol

Either way i want me car to be going by tomorrow so i can use it instead of this automatic b20a vigor im driving now that belongs to my mate, He will be able to have it back and fix it up to sell.

Ill put on some pics when im done

MAN its going to be so good to have my car back again :d i wanna go do it now just for the pleasure of driving it haha

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

i have reused a gasket i had lieing around, it seems to be working, good compression no smoking and it doesnt use any water. i drained out the milky oil, i think the oil was milky from all the water that went into the oil when i removed the head

now i have a new ploblem to fix, sump plug is fucked. some ass decided to overtighten the bolt and fail the thread. im fucked if i know what im going to do about it grrrr i dont want to change the sump!!

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

Fuck man. They installed the gasket upside down? How do you not notice that shit? Looks like a pretty obvious error to me. And yeah, that milky oil is due to the water in it. Don't run it if at all possible, it can eat up your bearings. Even a second oil change would be advised, because there was prolly still milky oil in the bearings after you changed it.

Glad its going though, can't wait to see your performance rebuild get going! What do you have left? Just missing a bearing and thrust washer?

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

yeah and a set of rings for the b16 pistons. wish someone copuld send me some of those for free lol

this mnotor has sorted tis shit out, swapped the milky oil and out new shit in and its clean, holds water and doesnt overheat anymore so looks like the head gasket swap was a winner, been driving it around today, Cant cain it cause i am unsure of wether the engine is run in yet, so anyways its going to get run in again k thx.

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

After lots of research here's my opinion.

    1) Do NOT use synthetic to start.
    2) Use the same weight of oil you plan on running in the car.
    3) Idle it for 15 minutes at 2,000RPM. (This breaks in bearings and cam)
    4) Drive it normally (not hard but not like grandma) for the first 500-1000 miles or equivalent KM. (To seat rings)
    5) Change the oil and call it a day.
    6) Retorque the head and adjust the valves if you feel you need to.

I'm pretty much against the "race" break in. But that's just me.

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

went to town today and experienced fail. the reused head gasket failed on me. HARD
all the oils left the sump and put itself in my radiator and made an ABSOLUTE FUCKING MESS. brown sludge everywehre!!!

So im going to pull the motor out and give it back to my mate, he will do what he wants with it, probably put a new head gasket on and put it in his ldue when he installs the turbo. Me? well im going to go pull out the other auto b20a in the white preldue he bought for parts, ill install that in my car and it will do until i have gotten my engine rebuilt,

FUCK the cunt that installed the head gasket upside down.

    EDIT::::: 2013

The oil in the coolant was caused by the oil cooler on the back of the block. it had a crack in it and put full oil pressure into the radiator. The head gasket was fine after all (Y)

i dont think the glove box tray will fit a LHD they are quite shaped to RHD cars. Mines missing a bracket but i should be able to whip one up and install it.

im happy with my car with its temporary engine. the new motor is ready to be built now.
Im getting good fuel economy with the temporary engine, yes this thread is lacking pix

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

Got my car legal today, went for a wof, as the sheet says it failed on the exhaust mounts cause some were off, low power steer fluid and a missing high stop lights in the rear window. also had a loud left rear wheel bearing. i fixed all that up and it passed. so shes legal for another 6 months with its temporary motor.

When i installed this temporary motor i had a spot of fail. snapped a head bold tab off the side of the intake flange and it took a piece of runner with it, so i have obtained another one
