    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

I have been using my mates preludes motor in my car for the last god knows how long. its a gold top and has been used abused not serviced and done over 300,000kms and its not the best of engines, it doesnt plume out blue smoke but it does burn oil and it seems to like to hesistate when you floor it. so im pulling it out and installing the 149,000km blacktop motor from the exclusive i just bought. its recently had a new cambelt etc so it should be good to go, for now im going to leave the shitty blacktop intake on and wire it all factory to a blacktop ecu with the only mod being the intake, should be sweet on gas again and a lot faster lol

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

the pics did not come out at all. the shed i was working in is useless to take pics in with light coming in from gay directions so bear with me or turn your brightness up

First i took this speedo drive thing )also has pipes and a pump for power steer. I decided to remove the pump out of it

All done ready to go..lightweight speedo drive

I decided to simply frop the motor out the bottom subframes and all. so i hooked the front of the car to my endless chain lifting block and lifted it up and unded all the subframe bolts, Disconnected the steering column pipes wires mounts speedo cable and unded the last bolt and bang out it falls.

New subframes waiting to be lifted up and bolted on. Manual steering rack ftw

    Bolt on the crossmembers

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

Now i put on the prelude hubs, swapped in brand new ball joints and tie rod ends...

hubs on, the lude hubs seem to fit perfectly, they have more negative caber i noticed, but i can adjust that out with the camber tops when i align the wheels, they are set at full negative currently for lolz.

Awesome, Now shes all ready to install the new motor i prepaired yesterday, So in it goes....

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

And thats it, hooked up the axles pipes wires radiator all the fiddly bullshit that takes forever to hook up and away she goes.

i did not install the front swaybar and it handles pretty goods, apart from the bodyroll lol, i cant thrash it until the clutch beds itself in cause it slips at the moment

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

the clutch is still slipping like a bitch so i cant give it WOT lol im hoping it will hurry up and bed itself in and not fail cause that would suck if it failed.

Need to sort out the camber its pretty bad not too much traction even with a slipping clutch

    Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread

Was that a brand new clutch? The only reason you should need to bed anything in is if you have a fresh flywheel/pressure plate surface and a new clutch. If you just randomly mixed and matched some clutch and flywheels, that might be why it's slipping, and you might be shit out of luck. Also, if it's brand new, it shouldn't be slipping, and it should take between 150-300 miles to be broken in. And you should never put full power down on a new clutch either.
