    Installing EGR Valve

I'm planning on installing a new EGR valve soon and was wondering if there are any how-to's for installing one. I looked in the shop manual pdf and couldn't find information on installing one, just diagnosing. I also couldn't find any instructions through searching the boards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty Easy, Unplug the Plug and Vacuum line, Unbolt the Two 12MM Bolts, Lift up the Valve, spray some carb cleaner in the EGR Holes and use a pipe cleaner to clean out the extra carbon, then Clean the old gasket off the intake mani, Install a new gasktet, set then place the valve on the intake, Tighten the two bolts, re plug in the plug and Vaccum line, and your done

Would I still use carb cleaner even though it's fuel injected? And are there any diagrams? The steps sound easy but it would really help to get a visual.

At majestic Honda (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...%2788-%2789%29) there are two EGR valves listed. They are exactly identical in every way in the description (even price) except for the part number. One is 69610 and the other is 69611. Does anyone know if there is a difference between them?

One could be a California Part and one could be a 49 States Part?

Or one could be a discontinued Part Number, Majestic Tends to leave all the numbers up, even if that part was superseded by a new part

The Official Part Number is 18710-PH3-025

Would it matter which I installed? I selected KA4AT from the drop down list (which should be for 49 states)

    Re: Installing EGR Valve

What's the best way to access the nuts to remove the EGR valve. I can't seem to get a good angle on them with all the vacuum lines running around the valve itself.

A Swivel for your Socket works best, otherwise Sometimes a Open end wrench works, least it did for me

So you didn't have to unhook any vacuum lines? My biggest problem is getting to the nut that's behind the valve, I can't seem to reach it at all, did you just use a wrench with that too?

The only line you unhook is the line attached to the valve itself, and yes I was able to just use a wrench on that nut

Ok, I now have a tool that can reach the nut (bought a wrench with a hinged head), but I can't get the bolts to turn. They're far too rusted, any suggestions?

Yep, I have some PB Blaster now. Unfortunately I got it too late, my mechanic already installed it for me. But he only charged me $57 so it wasn't too bad.
