    How are you going to do a carb swap with an intake manifold and cold air intake? And if you rebuild the engine, you should get the block checked and bored out if needed.

    Re: bore out or no

    Even If you wanted to bore the block it couldn't be over bored that much anyways...they offer larger pistons for our car but larger is only I think .002 over? Its not much and if you wanted to bore even more you would have to get custom pistons and they can get pricey...A stock rebuild sounds like what’s needed and if your going with a carb swap(32/36 Weber), cam regrind(Colt or Delta) and I/H/E you should be good to go. There are no aftermarket carbed intake manifolds offered for our cars, for EFi people they have adapted the aftermarket B18 intake to fit. New rods are not needed unless you’re planning to rev pretty high all the time...and with new rods you would need more headwork.

    There are plenty of threads on here for guidance so just search for them...but I would go with this initial setup:

    Standard Rebuild
    Weber 32/36 carb
    Stage 1 Colt Cam or Delta 272 regrind
    Rebuilt head with some minor work(p&p)
    Pacesetter complete exhaust system
    MSD aftermarket coil with various aftermarket wires and plugs(NGK)
    Remove that cursed "black box"

    This will all require a good amount of work and tuning so be prepared and it helps to be engine savvy if not just read and read again...if you still don't understand then ask away on here! Good luck.

    the cheap ebay pistons drop compression a bit, i believe they have different size dish's but other than that they are fine. If you are gonna rebuild the motor i would go with a minimum overbore

    Re: bore out or no

    bore it out to get more displacement. so far the max is like .050 over so making a 82.7mm bore into a 83.2mm but remember the more you bore out the weaker the block gets....so IMO .020 or .030 is the best choice

    Only bore if the cylinder is out of dimension.

    Re: bore out or no

    Even if you bored out to a 1.00mm over piston (.040") the difference in displacement would only be 48cc, about 2%. Not worth the bother.

    Keep in mind, Honda only makes a 0.3mm (0.012") oversize piston. If it's needs any more than that you will have to use aftermarket pistons.

    As for the rest, you won't find an after market intake for carbs, unless by some miracle you can find an older one used. If you use a downdraft carb you can use the stock intake, possibly modified some. Otherwise it's going to be custom. Consider getting a good 3 angle valve job with the rest of the work. That alone will help head flow more than anything else, except a big valve conversion.

    so does that mean if i get like 83mm pistons i will get like a true 2.0L engine.

    You would get 1969cc instead of 1955cc. To get a true 2.0L you would need a piston diameter of 83.64102865441mm. Roughly.

    displacement = ((diameter/2) * (diameter/2) * Pi * stroke length * 4) / 1000.

    Pi = 3.141592653592
    Stroke length = 91mm
    All other measurements in mm.
