carb - fuel shut off valve

I have been having some intermittment problems with the electronic fuel shut off valve on the back of my carburetor. It seems like the wire and connector is old and should be replaced. This is not easy to access, so I was wondering if it is advisable to bypass?

Has anyone bypassed this shut off? Does this present any other problems?

you can't bypass it, it needs power to allow fuel to enter the carb. if it looks worn get a new o ring and solder a new wire to it,then put a connector on it. this valve also prevents your car from dieseling after you turn off the ignition.

is that the one to keep the carb from dieseling? So removing it would cause you to be more likely to diesel, and unplugging it would cut off fuel to the idle circuit.
