Direct Intake? help?

I just took the stock tube off of my carbed air box. I plan to buy an intake filter and fit it onto my airbox to make a sort of short ram intake. But here's my question. When I took off the plastic piping and started the car, I got this sound comming fro somewhere under the airbox. It doesn't sound abnoxious or bad, but it asn't there before. Anyone know what this is? Is it my carb? Is it bad? Any help would be nice.

thats a cool sound that hapens when the is suction. if you had fuel injection, and put on a cai, you would here the souund too but much louder!

I think that sound gives the car a tougher sound. I heard someone test drive my car and when they hit the gas the car just screamed! but to be careful about dirt, especialy with a carb.

when i put my exhaust on it sounded cool but when i got the intake it sounded monsterous
