I'm going to install camber-adjusting front upper arm mounts

I bought these suspension mounts:


Basically, the instructions say to remove the old mounts and put in the new ones. But they have this rubber washer that goes just to the inside of the new posts. On the exploded view of that assembly, there is a little "O ring" right inside the post (#31), so I'm wondering what purpose the new washer is supposed to fulfill? A member here also said his washers wore out fairly quickly, and he recommended getting a teflon or steel one instead. I've never taken that assembly apart, so from the Majestic Honda diagram it's a little hard to see what fits over what when it's all together.

Can someone enlighten me? I guess it wouldn't matter if another washer goes in there, but I wonder if the rotating action of the arm will wear on it. Maybe the clearances aren't that tight, and this is all moot.

My rubber ones wore out too. I think I just left them off after the wreck. Honestly, I dont see what good those damn little flimsy things could do anyways. Just leave them off or get some better teflon washers.

As far as i know, it works as a seal to prevent water to get into the shaft.

Something else to add is if your using new arms I would look into getting the Honda grease boot on them. What ever the brand(aftermarket) of arms I got the boots last about a year before they cracked. I replaced them with the Honda brands and no problems so far.

Also depending on how frisky your feeling I would drill the ball joint for a grease fitting. I did it on one side of the rear and its working fine where as the the other rear is got slop in it just short of 2 years.

for some bizzare reason the 3g has a prob flogging out front upper and rear upper ball joints
had to replace mine all twice

Thanks for the teflon washer info. The previous owner of my car whacked a pothole bad enough to require a new right front wheel. So, because I'm dropped an inch courtesy of Eibach, and although I have -1.6 degrees (tolerable) on the left side, the right side is -2.7 degrees, which seems a bit much. The new mounts seem the simplest way to correct it.
