I got my accord from my grand parents cause they're not able to drive anymore and its an auto, the transmission is pretty much shot so, I was just wondering if I had a manual trans from the same gen accord would I be able to put the manual trans in. Along with clutch assembly and shifter, ya know all the essentials.
Mine is an 86 LX and I was looking at getting the 5 speed from an 88 LX, would there be any problems?

see the how to for this and also do a search "thread titles only" for swapping the trans.
Biggest thing is, have all the parts you need from the donar car.
what is wrong with the automatic that you say it is toast?
Well I've got a full 88 accord that I'm picking up that was hit from behind and is pretty much just a parts car. But my transmission is sticking in every gear and won't shift itself. I have to shift it usually and even then most of the time it wont leave 2nd or it won't down shift. I just want a manual trans anyways.
I found the auto to 5 speed thread, it says the 86-87 and the 88-89 EFI won't work, I was just trying to make sure it'll work for the carbed accord.
All A20 trans's will work... just difrent gear ratio's , theres plenty of how to's on here... trans, shifter asembly, pedal asembly, etc etc etc..... all should be explained i nthe how to.
Have you tried a trans flush? It's a lot cheaper than a swap. Usually the only reason you have to replace an auto is if it's slipping. If you're dead set on a manual, then rock on, but you might find that there's yet more life in your auto.
yeah i'm pretty dead set on the manual, I was actually pretty excited when the transmission started crapping out so its all good. I just wanted to make sure it would all work out. Thanks
