    ford probe injectors

does anyone know if probe injectors fit our cars like DSM injectors would? im having a hard time finding high impedence injectors from a 2g DSM since there are not alot of people with them up here for sale, and ive found some turbi probe injectors at the junkyard for next to nothing. im just curious to see if they will fit before i take them to get cleaned and tested.

I don't know about the probe injectors, but why do want high impendance injectors? The 3g has a resistor box, you could use either low or high impedance injectors. As far as do they fit, take a look. The dsm injectors aren't a direct fit, either. The oem injectors I really like are the wrx ones. With the tops cut off, they're about 740cc, and they're and high impedance. The don't fit without a special o ring though, which for some bizarre reason, I have.

    Re: ford probe injectors

im ditching the stock ECU and using megasquirt for fueling. i plan on adding forced induction some time down the road, and id like to have injectors sized for when the time comes. i couldnt find some 2g DSM ones s, o opted for the probe GT ones. even though their high impedance, it makes no difference cause megasquirt prefers that over the low impedence ones. i could use low impedence injectors, but i need to add resistors, and i on top of that, i cant use PWM part for tuning.

i know i may need to modify the bottom seal to fit, but i just want to know if it will fit if i bore the seal out

after boring out a single seal last night and test fitting it. i think its safe to say that the injectors will most likely work, but it seems to sit a bit farther down compared to the stock injectors.

    Re: ford probe injectors

What size (cc) are the probe injectors?

off topic, but those anal probes are such pieces of junk. I remember a guy who had one, we turned the boost up to like 12psi, and the turbo blew about 3 blocks from the house..we pulled up to a gas station to check it out, and we got kicked out because it was smoking so bad they thought it was going to blow up, and it was scaring away their customers.

    324CC @ 3bar fuel pressure, so realistically its 300cc at 37PSI.

haha. are you sure it was the injector that caused the problem? im pretty sure the engine itself is designed by mazda and not ford and used quality parts, not garbage. chances are if it was the turbo that blew, its not related to the injectors, but rather worn down seals on it

    Re: ford probe injectors

I know it wasn't injector related, I was just saying the whole car was a pile. I wouldn't want a single thing from that car. That guy used ot beat the shit out of it just for something to do, we always made fun of him. I think the turbo was a garrett T3, nothing bad quality about that, but it blew almost immediately at only 12psi, pathetic. That car must have never been maintained properly.
But back to the topic at hand, how are you going to make any power with 320 or whatever cc injectors? A Stock integra gsr runs the 240s at almost 100% capacity. Even the dsm blue tops (450cc) are too small for any power.

    Re: ford probe injectors

dsm 450 injectors are good to about 300hp at the crank. the ford probe injectors are good to about 200hp at the crank, a HUGE difference if you ask me. thats also running them at 85%, i would rather take a 325cc injector and run it at 70% or so then a 240cc injector and run it at 95%. the failure rates at a higher duty cycle will justify this as well. i believe honda uses keihen injectors and the probe used denso injectors. both pretty good brands if you ask me. i also couldnt find any high impedence injectors at the junkyard that were a decent CC output except for these 325cc injectors.

as far as the engine goes, i havent even run it yet, so im starting at a new tune basically, but im aiming for maybe 140hp at the crank if im lucky(headwork, full exhaust and intake). as soon as i turbo it, im hoping to make somewhere around the 200hp mark, so should be well within the injectors range, and i have more room to move up if i need to anyways. like my friends say, im making a grocery getter with attitude, not to tear up every car on the road.
