I am pretty sure the clutch is toast in my 89 accord lx, i have a parts car, an 87 accord lx-i, was just wondering if the transmissions match up...?

yeah, but the lxi gears are shorter, it actually has a shorter final drive

i got one u can get for 30 bucks plus ship came out 89lxi 3 and rev straches tho
Lol, why would i buy yours when i have one sitting in my parts car?
i think he means it scratches.. or grinds.. lol i guess..
hmm i didnt know that the LX-i gears were shorter..
one day I'll return.
the final drive on the carb tranny is 3.8 and in the fuel injection it is 4.066 and in my car it is 4.2....and i love my trans...very quick

is yours an integ or accord final drive, messy?

So I'm not exactly familiar with gear ratios n all that... would the fuel injected tranny be better for acceleration and booting around/street racing??? and could i get a definition of "shorter final drive"?? what is the difference with the final drive ratios, how will it affect going thru gears...?
shorter gears larger # = faster accel lower top spead
longer gears smaller # = slower accel greater top spead

"Weight is relative to power like time is relative to speed"
carb tranny has a 3.8 final
fuel injected has 4.006
integra gear swap has 4.2...thats the one i have and i love it but would not recomend it for turbo since it makes the gears really short

See thats what I don't get.... If the fuel injected final drive's # is higher, then why the lower top speed? and how much of a difference of top speed are we talking here?, and how much of an acceration increase with the lx-i trans??
I have a carbed tranny in my lxi, and I don't even notice the differance
Sweet, and either way, I dont mind faster accel..
plus theres always time to screw with the gear ratios in the future, just need to car to move for now.. hah
on the top end, these cars will run out of power before gearing. the problem with higher gearing (better accel) is your rpms will be way high on the highway. its a personal choice. since accel after 5.5K rpm in these isnt great im going to leave the gearing a get a cam that works with stock redline. i would try to make your faster with torque rather than high end hp, trust me, its easier that way.
Right on dude, I'll figure something out... And the parts car is an Ex-i not an Lx-i, any differences between the lx-i tranny and the ex-i tranny?
