check engine light

hey guys my 88 exi doesn't have a check engine light in the dash.does this mean it's out of a carbed car.should i see if i can find one in j/y.

find a efi one ur running with out vss wich is not good .. i know im useing a carb one too XD

what is vss. I know i'm asking stupid questions but i'm used to carb cars and this my first fi accord.and it sounds like the guy who had the car before me really messed it up.

its the same but with a pic of an engine with check below it to the left of the battery light. You can probably use the carb cluster you will just need to install a bulb in it.

You need the EFI Cluster due to the VSS, Unlike carb there is a plug right by where the speedo cable goes, this Sensor sends data to the ECU so it can Calculate the proper fuel amounts to send to the motor.

alot of people will swap in carb clusters, A: due to a efi cluster dying and thats all they can find in the local area, or B: when they sell a car, some people will swap in a carb cluster to hide a check engine light

i got the efi pic my vss is dying to trying to figure how to swap it without changing the odometer
