    Welding ?

Need to do some body repair. But I need info when welding on body. I'm disconnecting negative battery cable and the ECU cable.

Is there anything else that I should be aware of.

    Thanks.
    Phil

If you are doing some serious hot work you may want to clear any plastics and insulation behind your work area. Keep spray paint cans (aerosols) away from possible slag , wear clothes approved for welding, no polyester, no butane lighters in your pocket (I can vouch for that one !!!)
You have the electronic part purdy much covered.

cover any glass with cardboard or something to keep the splatter away from it. little metal balls will melt into the glass and ruin your glass

and make sure that your welder is set up for welding thin metal. too many amps or too much heat and you can warp or even put holes in the sheet metal.

ahh yes, dont forget the glass !!! Also any grinding you do, be careful about it landing on the paint up on top of the car, moisture gets to it and causes lil tiny rust spots that do NOT come off.

I'll be using ER70S-6 0.23 wire and mostly tacking so as not to build to much heat.

    Thanks all,
    Phil

Yeah .023 is a must. I think if you keep the ground close to your work the electrical part will be fine.
