    Valve spring specs.

So I'm going to be rebuilding my A20A3 motor and I was planning on turbocharging it. I was also thinking maybe a more aggressive cam and stronger valve springs. So seeing as how I can't find a company that makes springs for my motor I need to go custom but to do that I need to know all the specs on the springs. I would greatly appreciate the help And I apologize if there is another thread on this, I couldn't find one.

The turbo guys will probably be more helpful, but unless you will be revving over 7000RPM you don't need to do anything with the springs. If you want you can use springs from an A18 head (2nd gen carbed Preludes) as they are a bit stronger than A20 springs. But I wouldn't bother with aftermarket springs unless you are seriously rev happy. And then you'll have other problems to deal with as well.

And from what I understand you don't want an upgraded cam for turbo. Upgraded cams have varying degrees of intake/exhaust valve overlap that helps for N/A but kills boost pressure.

Thanks for the info. I would be getting cams specifically for F/I so it would help but question is, is it worth it?

First off, I would check with SI Valves, they may be able to hook you up with some of the valvetrain components you are after.

Second off, you CAN get a turbo specific cam grind, but I would suggest waiting until you are already boosted and just worry about it later. The gains are not going to be to crazy if you are running low boost and not making a lot of power.

Delta Cams in Tacoma, WA can build you a custom grind. They talked about building me a 282 intake 272 exhaust, but I am going to wait because I feel that is a bit much on the duration. I would rather get a cam with a more mild duration but higher lift - I am not sure if anybody can make a cam like that for us.
