    Slamming into Reverse

In the mornings when I start my car and shift into Reverse, the car inevitably slams into gear violently. It doesn't do this if I shift into Drive. I changed the torque rod bushings and that helped some, but it's still pretty violent. Fluid is relatively new, but the car wasn't much loved by the previous owner, so there's probably a lot of gunk in the works.

I'm thinking the valve body is old and tired and getting sloppy, but it could just be crud. Does anyone else have any thoughts. If I'm religious about changing the oil, do you think this might clear up?

    Thanks!

    Walnut Creek. How 'bout you?

Did you ever figure out the cause of the slamming, or did you just swap in one of your 5 manual trannies.
