Current:
2014 Elantra Sport 6MT
2000 Montero Sport 4x4 (beater, trail rig)
Then we went back to his house and got his 86' LX.
We spent some time comparing the different aspects of the 86' and the 89'. There are differences.

good pics, camera takes good pictures
(sorry, I dont enjoy seeing the 96 in the same pic as 86 though) anyway sounds like it was a cool day.
Can you offer up some description as to what the differences are in the way the cars feel?
I know that my two 86 even feel different from each other. The LX is a LOT quicker and it just d o e s n o t like to be poking around, yet the DX likes to just take it as it comes and is pretty slow even being a 5 speed. DX handles a lot better, I dunno, maybe cuz it is actually in alignment.
Man... that's just hate. A real Accordlover, or Hondalover I should say would appreciate any Honda. That 96 is leaps and bounds better than any 3g :p.
Mine feels peppier to me, probably because unlike Russian, I don't shift at 2500 RPMSOriginally Posted by roodoo2

I like my clutch better, and his feels unlike any Honda I've ever driven (We own 2 MT Accords at the moment, a 2003 and the 86.). I've driven MT versions of 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th gen Accords. All have a very similar, linear and precise clutch feel.
I don't like either of our brakes. Mine are mush and gush (need bled), and his don't react quick enough for my tastes. - It's all subjective though.
My steering feels more spot on, but I think Russians car is out of align. My steering is also weighted differently than his. I have a feeling the setup changed at some point, or his newer rack and pinion isn't the same as mine, I'm not sure.
His suspension is firmer than my car, as is the ride. Probably because he's replaced darn near every little bolt and nut on the damn car. lol
His car is quieter at idle than mine, but it appears that mine is idling high.
As for the differences between the 86 and the 89. Here they are.
The headliner is fabric on the 86,vinyl on the 89.
The seatbelt buckles are different on the 89.
The door lock switch is positioned differently on the 89.
The 89 has the ability to restrict airflow to the outer vents.
The bumpers, grille, and trunk are all different.
The front blinkers and side markers changed.
The Valve cover on the 86 is silver, the 89 is black.
Some wiring in the engine bay is different.
The glove box handle is silver on the 86, black on the 89. - Same with the roof antenna base.
The carpet in the trunk has buttons to secure it in the 86, none in the 89. (cost cutting?)
I think that's all I've found thus far...
