    Re: Project X: RWD Accord

i needed speedo which i can use my afc display. also my fuel gauge wont work since i'm using a fuel cell, and i haven't made the sending unit for it yet. the sending unit i will be making for it still wont work for it since i will be running stuff like that into a pic controller to monitor on a lcd display in the dash.

pretty much left is clutch and electrical. the throttle cable sorta works with the intake manifold, but doesn't hookup the same way so i might have to change that just to be safe.

I don't remember if I brought this up before, but if you're planning on driving this thing on the street, are you planning on getting any type of special insurance on this thing, like a stated value policy? If you are, be careful! Insurance companies are unethical pieces of shit and will do anything they can to protect their bottom line. I talked to several companies about getting a stated value policy on my car, they said they could, say if it was a $10k stated value, they'd charge me based on that value, but then if my car was stolen/crashed whatever, they'd fucking re appraise the car arbitrarily, and only give me some % of that value that I'd been paying on the whole time! FUCK that. I would be afraid to drive that car unless you knew if someone hit you, you'd get your money/time/value back out of it. Can you get it appraised, and have that value on record with your insurance, and have it actually be honored?

That's interesting. I found this on google:
    http://insurance.families.com/blog/a...-agreed-amount

Looks like what you really want is an Agreed value policy, not a Stated value policy.

    Re: Project X: RWD Accord

i will only go through that kind of insurance if i can get the car to pass a rigidity test at a auto body shop because i've altered the unibody.
and since i want it to do that, i have a ton more work to do to it welding wise to make sure it does pass. but i'm trying to avoid adding to much weight to the back of the car, so i have to be careful how i do this.

the pic controller will do more than just fuel guage, it will also eventually control my cluster via/digital readout. i plan on also adding things like automatic lights, wipers, time set door locks/windows (for those nights i forget to lockup / set my alarm). will also have stuff like if i'm not around and it rains as an example, my windows will roll up. some neat things i always wanted in a car i owned, just could never afford those type of cars lol.
on a side note, i'm also converting the heater system to electric which will also be controlled by the pic and be able to set the temp and keep it there so ya don't boil if you forget to turn it off lol.

i will also be implementing pushbutton start and complete key less operation through alarm remote/keypad or if i want to do something really different, use my phone to unlock the car via bluetooth.

these were from a previous project, i will be most likely using civic shocks with this car, so i can pull them through the fenders and not have to worry about destroying them right away lol.

engine sits infront of the tires techically, if you look at any of these transmissions where the axles plug into... only thing that leans over is the intake manifold.

heh, think i figured out my clutch problem... i had the master cylinder upside down, so air was gettin trapt, yes flame me, i'm an idiot hahahah.

compared to a 97 accord with f22b2 5spd, slave cylinder moves about the same distance, so i think i'm good to go on that.... next is bleed brakes and tidy electrical.
