    Re: Project: X

^^^^ -- better pic on the rear of the subframe not lining up to the cars.

^^^^ -- I didnt plan this, but OMG does it almost line up perfectly. i dont have to use much material to make it solid, which is awsome because now i can spend more of my time re-enforcing and bracing the back end...

when the rad support of the 4g clip is pushed up against where the front gas tank strap supports, the wheels apear to be perfectly centered in the fender wells(caster or running? cant remember.. you know what i mean tho) this certainly saves a shitload of time for welding in lol.

^^^^ -- approx where i would like to see the rear ride height...

i will be at it again tomorow... hopfully i can start welding it in, once i get it stable enough to set on the ground without the jacks.. i will be putting my coils in the front and back to play with ride heights on the ground.

i just cant wait till its done... its gonna be so much fun to drive.

    Re: Project: X

    thanks guys..!!!

i think i do have 1 problem, i can get around it eventually but for now it will have to do...

the only ecu i have to run the motor is the 92-3 pm6 auto ecu from the f22a6.

i was thinking of connecting the vtec solenoid to the secondaries on the intake manifold, but i don't know how the maps in the ecu work. going by past experience and running race cams with stock ecus, i shouldn't have a problem doing this for now. i will install a light off the vtec oil switch so i can keep an eye on it manually.

not planned, i just woke up one day and was like, i want a rwd honda.
... i have done engine mods/swaps to this car, messed around with the suspension... now time to explore it further and take it to the next level.

altho i do have some things like the clutch and throttle/shifter already figured out... my fuel system and brakes. ofcourse things can always go wrong through miscalculation. but usually pretty good at problem solving... so all thats left after that is the wiring and tuning... and that should be a breeze.

the only thing i havent planned 100% yet because i dont know quite how much room i'm going to have is the exhaust still.

basically if i see it in my head, i will go run outside to see if it can be done, if it can and it still make sense before i start. i will do it. i'm kinda weird that way.

since i will be running the rad to the front of the car. i will just tap into the coolant lines that goto the rad.

the engine will be encased in a insulated firewall cover, since i havent gotten that far yet, i dont know how i'm going to design it till the engines in the car and running.

i know theres a possibility that i will not be running the factory heater core, but might convert it to electric.

i will not have powersteering anymore either since the front of the car will be much much lighter. the battery will be also put back in its stock location. and the fuel cell will also be on the front firewall middle encased or caged.. the fuelcell does not have a sending unit and can only hold 5 gallons of fuel right now(good for a bout 20 bucks) so i will design one and probably convert the cluster guage to a digital meter.

also i know the engine will cool better if there was ventilation, so i will probably fab up active vents inbetween the doors and rear wheel wells...

yeaaa.. i thought about it... but i don't like things that could potentially make a car unstable at high speeds.

That is true. So how are you going to prevent the wheels from turning?

either gonna lock the rack input shaft so it cant turn or i will remove it completely. its more work right now if i want to remove it, so i figure i'd see how it drives with it in.

nah i'll probably fab up a bracket that can be welded to the shaft and the chassis so it doesnt move.

that is a fuckin mega project dude!!!
have you thought bout using gen3 prelude 4ws set up?
locking the steering so it dont move will be the interesting bit
welding the rack up solid might work alright or some way of sticking some bolts thru therack housing and thru te rack itself.

    Re: Project: X

How about adjustable track bars? They use those set ups on dirt track cars that are generic configurations you could use by welding up some boxes for either side, the bar for the RT side would go to the LT box (offset, staggered a bit) . Box meaning something simialr to your front radius arm anchors, or those such as on a twin I beam ford, of course they would be going side to side not front to rear.
They use a similar set up on some late model GM FWD cars with fully independent rear suspension too if I recall. I was looking at one and thinking how easy it would be to make it 4wh steering, but you are doing opposite here.
