    Re: portland area

I finally got my car running this weekend so once I get some new tires on it, and get it tuned well enough to drive on the street I will actually be able to take the 3g down to a meet!

    Re: portland area

So, does anybody want to take the lead on organizing this? Chris (bobafett) and I organized the last one, and not many people showed up. I suppose I could try again, but I don't really know any meet spots in Portland. Unless we actually wanna do some karting? What about a BBQ as well, or would we be better off just going to a restaurant to eat?

Maybe we should vote on where to kart? I'm down for Pat's Acres myself. Are there any restaurants near there? Kinda seems like it might be in BFE...

As far as a date, why don't we get one set right now. How does July 20 sound? Seems far enough out to get whatever time off you need if you work on Sunday but not so far out we forget about it. Plus it gives us a little extra time to get our cars tuned up to go!

    Re: portland area

So the two main choices are:

    Sykart - http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...=16&iwloc=addr

    $15 / for one 10 minute session
Optional $30 membership which includes 1 free session $10/session afterwards. Takes 4 sessions to break even with buying a membership.

    -----------------------

    Pat's Acres - http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...=16&iwloc=addr

    $12 mandatory license
    $25 for a 12 minute session

July 20 they have supermoto races so that won't fly... but even though they are WAY more money its so much more fun! Elevation changes, a long track, and long straightaway... its just good times.

However if we do want the meet on that day we will need to race at Sykart.

    Re: portland area

Good info. How about Pat's Acres on the 27th then? That will give everybody an extra week to save up a few extra bucks so we all can make it. Then we can grab food at a nearby restaurant and have some time to BS.

    Re: portland area

I still say Sykart because I like to spend less, especially with all the 240 shenanigans as of late.

    Re: portland area

Yeah its 'do you want 40 minutes or 24 minutes of racing for your $60?' lol...

More places to eat in the Sykart area compared to BFE Canby...

Honestly I don't care either way - more time will be spent BS'ing than karting.

    Re: portland area

Yeah, Tualatin has a few good places to eat. Bellagio's pizza is where we have our NWN meets--we were meeting at Aloha Grill which is ok if you like Hawaiian food.

    Plus the general sandich/fastfood places.

Bellagios has a decent parking lot, as well.

Sure, why not. That should give chris enough time to get his hoopty running well enough to make it.

Portland is right on the washington border, so you have to cross the whole state.

    Wholly not worth it lol.
