    Bounty II Update thread

Well since the demise of my 88 (BountyR.I.P.) I took up bringing back one of my parts cars.Fortunately i never took much off this one so all it really needed was an engine and transmission I've swapped most everything from my 88 ,front suspension, dual intake mani engine, and the 5-speed for fun. Minus some small rust spots this car is in pretty good shape, considering someone must have abused it needing a new engine at 180k
    On to the pic's!
The beginning sitting in the yard with blown engine, still got up a 45deg. 1/2 mile hill with 3 cylinders

    Fun,fun fun + auto to 5-speed swap

getting ready for wash. this is from sitting 1 1/2 years untouched

All clean which is when i started noticing the rust spots

    had to add this one

Port/Polish, valve stem seals, no valve job yet though just cleaned off the carbon

    Re: Bounty II Update thread

This is what i found after turning the engine it came with over.

I had lots of fun this weekend. this is the car at 40deg. trying to get clearance for loosening the crankshaft bolt ended up taking it to a shop who didn't charge me for it anyway

replaced most of the interior and clean it up a bit

And i got some new rims at the j/y 15's from a saturn. much better than stock steelies!

now to replace the windsheild and the water/oil pumps. good times

    Re: Bounty II Update thread

i beleive your right on that wheel
The car is in grat shape minus about four rusted spots. the black hatchie had some serious pain issues when i got it and that was my first time painting any car the pic's don't do justice to the finished product to bad i never took those pics before it got smashed. no need to paint this one yet just a little rust repair which will probably end up leaving primer spot on it but i think i'll have it repainted professionally

That is a nice, functional car. It does my heart good to see it.

    Re: Bounty II Update thread

pumps done but my worrisome ticking is still present under heavy acceleration??? hoping it's my exhaust rattling cause it's binded up against the car till i get mo money. to the good
Installed new alternator to fuse box wire today and finnaly got an msd blaster coil. also for fun set the cam timing ahead a tooth, which for some reason made the car sound more throaty. i'll see if i can getr a pic of the new stuff tomorrow, but the coil is very well hidden now. i put it where the vacuum canister was

    Re: Bounty II Update thread

your ticking under acceleration might be some signs of detonation. My accord did that whenever I put in 85 octane fuel. Changed up to 87 and it fixed the issue.

Clean car though, nice basic transportation.

I think you messed up your wheels, one side points forward, the other side points backwards, you need to swap 2 wheels from one side to the other.. those are cool actually, they can be passive or aggressive.

Its prttey fnuny how you can raed tihs eintre snetnece with all tehse ellters out of palce...
