    Upper rear link,greaseable ball joint.

This is somewhat of an up date from my thread here:
    Rear adjustable arms are on!

When I installed the Ingalls arms I drilled one with a grease fitting and I left one alone stock to see if a greaseable ball joint would last longer. Sure enough on my suspension check last month the side that DOES NOT have the fitting is worn/loose. I checked it this month and it may have worn some more even. The side that has the fitting is rolling along ok nice and tight.

Ill work on some pics here when I can find them there lost in space on my HD atm.

Driverside got the grease fitting this is the one that wears the quickest on my car. anyone no why ????

got a little jiggy with the grease.

Pass side notice the condition of the boot.

    EDIT 2016

Changed out the passenger side this week, slight slight wear but the dust boot was ripped. Never keep track of the mileage.

    No pics? Sheesh.

Thanks for the update. I considered tapping some zerks into my ball joints at one point, but figured I'd F it up and get filings in there. If by some miracle I didn't get filings all over, then I'd probably blow out the boot by overfilling.

    Whatever.

Need another set of these really. The poly ends are starting to wear out.

im running the chedda rear arms and the only problem i have with them is that they make noise. I have sprayed them and even used poly lube but i guess they dry out.

I want to make it a project next year to rehab these. I m really into those pillow ball rod ends. All the OEM chassis are going to them. Just got to get a spare set to work with and ends that are close in size to retrofit in there.

Possible something in the front as well.

re: Upper rear link, greaseable ball joint.

if your looking to use a factory style ball joint and have the arm look similar to the picture you posted id look into Delco P/n# 45k0090 that one should have the fatter end for the joint, the 45k0060 has a poly bushing on the body side but has a different cup for the ball joint. I used the 45k0090 on my hatch without a problem... a joint with a zerk tho is a different matter

Re: Upper rear link, greaseable ball joint.

Terrible story..but im getting old so Ill tell em..

I work in a garage right out of high school in fact I had to wait until I was 18 to go under a car, before that I just did tire repair. We worked "half day" Saturday which ended up being all day and then some since of course Saturday is all ways tire day. I had a big head attitude about working Saturday and of course a swelled head from Friday night never helped. Hell it was all overtime.

When people came in for oil changes on Saturday and I really didnt like them I would blow out there tie rod boots with the air powered grease gun. Horrible!
