    '89 LX-i...

    Hey guys,

    Just bought a 89 LX-i, 89k miles, stock. Always liked the older acuras/hondas, was trying to find a similar gen. prelude, but all of them were molested and/or with high miles...


    My other car's very happy it's no longer on daily-driver duty, solely a track/autocross car from now on!

    Thanks for the welcome guys!
    The double wishbone susp. on all corners / sunroof / pop-up lights is pretty cool stuff!

    In terms of plans, I drive 30k+ miles a year, so mods woudn't be money well spent (e.g. sitting in traffic & in 5th on highways 90% of the time). I'd like to own the car at least 7yrs more, at which time I can put vintage plates on it! Car would have around 288,000 miles by then, not completely unrealistic right?

    I need to order parts like a front license plate bracket, sunroof 'shade/cover', & valve cover gasket kit; anyone know a good site to order new-old stock parts from?

    You should definitely be able to make it to that mileage. I drive a LOT and im sitting at 406k.

    i remember i washed my rims and they looked just like that....now they are black with break dust all on them....i would recomend using a ceramic pad with low dust

    welcome to the board Paul. Looks like you got yourself a nice clean sedan there. Where in NY are you? For the license plate bracket, keep an eye out on this board, there's always someone parting out their cars.

    Valve cover gaskets, really anywhere. There's regularly someone on ebay selling a full gasket kit pretty cheap if you're thinking about doing an overhaul. If not, you should be able to get it just about anywhere (AutoZone, AdvanceAuto, PepBoys, NAPA, etc) pretty cheap.

    Thanks guys!

    I've never seen such bad brake dust on a car actually, but the mpg more than makes up for it, on my 3rd tank, and never had less than 36mpg; which includes a fair amount of time 'parked' in LIE traffic!
