Im parting out my 3G. I refuse to sell it on Ebay or Craigs list because I know that you guys here on this forum will give its parts the care and respect it deserves. I have had a intimate passion for this car since the first day I saw it and purchased it. It has been a very relibable daily driver since October of 06 and Ive averaged between 28-30 MPG keeping track each fill-up. I have given this car more of my time then anything else I own. I had the desire to keep it 100% stock and do whatever I possibly could to restore it to the best of my ability. Naturally, being a Vermont owned car for a large portion of its life, it has rust.
Here are the positives---> 168K on powertrain and chassis- Torque is smooth and always there with no hesitation
MINT INTERIOR (single flaw is a 3/4" tear in the leather on the back of the passenger seat)
New air filter
New cap/rotor and plug wires (still have the OE 1986 wires as a momento and will include if you would like)
New NGK spark plugs
New exhaust flex pipe professionally welded
Oil changed every 2,000 miles with GTX High Mileage and only a premium filter
OE 13" wheels w/ 185/70/13 Cooper Trendsetters with at least 50% life
Unistalled New Posi Quiet brake pads and an extra pair of good condition calipers-
Professionally steam cleaned carpets and seats
OE stereo w/ 7-band Equalizer
5% tinted triangle windows and 20% tinted rear window
Louvers
87 Integra front bumper
87 Integra front fenders (not on vehicle)
87 Integra amber corner lights (not on vehicle)
Extra A20A3 Exhaust manifold painted and baked in an oven. Includes new gasket between cylinder head
Here are the negatives---> Rust... the wheel wells can be repaired in a weekend with Tiger Hair fiberglass bondo and finish bondo. Just need to be dedicated. The rear strip under the taillights can be re-cut with sheet metal and completely replaced. - The muffler broke off right at the rear of the muffler. CV shafts click when accelerating in corners. The boots are not torn at all, they are just the OE shafts and are worn out. I have daily driven it with clicking CV shafts since Oct of 06 and just drive easy in the corners then point and go. Works quite well. Replacements are $70 each and easy to replace but I was on a college budget and they didnt change their condition the entire time I drove the car so I just adapted.- 5th gear will slightly grind if you do not bring engine to idle during a 4th-5th shift. If you let the RPM's drop to about 1K, it shifts perfectly.- Oil drain plug slightly leaks. I notice a drop of about 1/4 quart between 2K mile oil changes. Needs to be drilled and tapped one size up to repair.- Driver's side turn signal/running light housing is slightly loose and I didnt want it to rattle around at ALL, so a few zip ties together holds it completely secure in the bumper.
It has its ups and downs but overall is a solid, reliable, gas effective daily driver. Not too many 3G's driving around with under 200k miles and 100% original its entire life. I am asking $700obo for the entire car or you can start making offers on parts you need
