    Front suspension bushing overhaul

Alright guys. The name speaks for itself, I need to replace almost every bushing down there. LCA bushings, sway bar bushings, etc. etc. I found the sway bar end links that work for us, but thats about it. I'd like to go with Energy bushings for as much of it as I can. Anyone have any links/part #'s? Thanks

    Re: Prothane Suspension Bushings
alright i found all the bushings that prothane offers us:
    front strut rod bushing kit
    8-1201 - 11.39
    front end link kit
    8-401 - 12.39
front lower control arm bushing kit
    8-210 - 20.39
    front lower shock bushing
    8-907 - 15.39
There's others as well like the sway bar to frame bushings, but I can't remember everything that I used. I wound up cross-referencing stock bushings on thehondapartsstore.com to find which were also used on the civics. You can replace every bushing in the front with poly except the UCAs. There's also a few in the rear.

    Sway Bar mount kit:
Energy Suspension 9-5126 (Requires grinding of brackets to fit to frame, but fits.)

    Shifter bushings:
    Energy Suspension 16-1101

You have something to press the LCA bushings out? Some have luck burning them out. I first drilled the rubber out, knocked out the center, cut the shell with a sawzall, and then drove what was left out with a punch. Now I have a press. The poly bushings are then easily installed, followed by the pin.

Those rear control arm bushings WILL NOT work on our control arms. They are for the 90-93 Accords. They DO NOT fit as lower shock bushings in the rear spindles.

    Front upper strut mount Kit:
Prothane 8-901 (Includes lower shock bushing for 88-00 civic/integra. The bushing is the same diameter as the accord lower shock bushings, but is a little short. It could probably be made to work with a longer dowel and a gap between the two halves. Not sure if I'd trust it though. You could always pass them to your buddy with a civic. )

I had a closer look at the rear control arm bushings and am 100% positive that they will fit our control arms with a thinner sleeve. I have ordered some 1-1/4" OD x 1.120" ID x .065" Wall steel tube and will let you all know how it goes.

    Re: Front suspension bushing overhaul

Resleeving didn't work, I found a sleeve that would press in, but it's a bitch and getting a little thin for my liking.

I'll tell you what will work though. 2 88-00 Civic rear upper control arm bushing kits (8-307) + the inner sleeves from the 90-97 or 86-89 Accord rear lower control arm bushing kit (8-312). Seems like quite a bit to spend to get poly rear LCA bushings, but if you screwed up and bought the "86-89" Accord rear bushings, you're 1/3 of the way there.

This is not correct. I forget what genius started this rumor but they are much too small for the rear shock bushings. There has to be at least 20 people on here who bought a set of them, I can't believe that I'm the first to attempt an install. What works is 8-904 (RR SHOCK BUSH UP/LWR 96-00 CIVIC) The upper bushings fit perfectly in the front so none of the kit goes to waste.

Mike (mykwikcoupe), I believe I owe you a refund on the set I sold you with the coilovers. pm me.

I just don't see the point of replacing the rubber with poly if you're going to let the sleeve slop around in the spindle. God the rattling would get to me. If legend-master's spindles have 1/16" of rust in the hole for the bushing he might be fine, other than that they aren't going to work. Trust me, you can drop the damn sleeves through.

Use the kit I mentioned in my previous post, it's an exact fit, less than half the price, and nothing goes unused. The upper shock bushings that come with the kit work in the front strut mounts.

Bump. Will the complete kit, Part #8-2009, work? If you just bought another upper control arm kit, and an extra lower control arm bushing kit?

No, go with what LX-Incredible has listed. It's what I went with and it all worked fine.

    Prothane 8-904 / 8-1201 / 8-401 / 8-210 / 8-907

Most of the others in that kit will not work.

I've been running these rear bushing for over 10,000+ miles. No noises, they do not move around at all. Did you actually install them and drive around, or is this an assumption? I would not not tell people about the shock bushings if they didn't work.
