i was gonna post them this morning but there was a database error.
anyways heres a little more how to.
1st: take door panel off of car
2: slowly peel all fabric off panel (you will be using it as a template for the new fabric)
3: slowly take apart every piece of the panel, use that to cut whatever kind of fabric you would like on your new panel
4 assemble in reverse order of how you took it apart
you sew it like this:
and pull it over and you end up with
then you take some foam and glue it to the board for some padding if you like
using this glue and make sure to use a lot:
take some 1/4" staples and start stapling around the edges
for the pocket, you have to re-pop rivet it onto the board
and to keep the shape by the top half, use some staples like so:
to cover the staples, use some peel and stick car molding and put it on
and i dont have an after pic of the drivers side yet but heres what it should look like
rear side

to 2ndgenguy: you have a 2nd gen center console right?
haha want to sell it? name your price
Glad to hear the show went well! I'm sure your car was not like anything anybody has seen. It's certainly not like anything I have ever seen even! Truly awesome!
Why yes, yes I do have a center console... Problem is, I was thinking about using it, I cut mine up and installed a 120v outlet wired to an inverter for powering my laptop... But I'm thinking about putting a non-chopped one back in... I'll think about it and let you know.
ok thanks appreciate it.
im looking to get one and using it for gps/tv/dvd player and put the taurus DIN cupholders in existing radio spot

Man that black interior is awesome!
Do the dash in black next?
Sick!!!!
2004-2011?
yea you have to take the dash out to get the cluster out, i have managed to get it out with the dash in but ill never do that agian.
thanks mkymonkey
No screws underneath. But the key to getting that cluster out of the 2g is that you have to pull off the steering wheel, then you have to undo the 4 bolts that go around the U brackets that hold the column up. Once the column comes down, you can then pivot the gauges forward and slide them out much easier. It's still a bitch though dealing with that speedometer cable. I usually disconnect it from the transmission so I have some slack to play with in the car.
