89 accord idles to high

hi, i am new to this forum as i just recently bought a 89 accord (i am only 15)
well it starts fine then it seems to idle at about 1,500rpm then gradely moves to 2,000rpm
and idles there, the car is a project car and i really need to figure this out before i start on other things and also u can hear it sucking in air when its idling
after u rev the car and it goes back to idle it makes a weird noise coming from around the plenum <<< not to sure on spelling

any help would be appreciated thanks

Is it a carb? If so, is the car warmed up? These carbs idle high until the engine is up to operating temps.

I would check for vacuum leaks.

could u help me out with like a diagram of all the vaccume hoses on a efi i can only find ones for carbs, and could u give me a expample on how to check for these leaks

You can use carb cleaner. Spray it on the lines and the engine will act differently if you sprayed the cleaner on a leak.

get the 86-89 master manual look under
fual and emmsions

should be like 12-7

yeh i found them thanks mate, umm i think the car is missing the air cleaner, and the vacume hose from the idle controll solanoid valve has a bolt in it, could this be the problem ?

ok i found the problem, was the fast idle valve being dirty as hell
