It's official. The correct angle of the motor is....

Alright guys, all these years and despite the fact that Mike once stated the motor was on about a 15° angle off vertical, I have not been able to get any exact or hard evidence to this effect.

Here it is finally... The pics may be shitty, but dammit, they do show that Mike was 100% correct. The angle is 15° off vertical.

Nice work. Good to have a real confirmation on that. Especially considering I had my DCOE A20 manifold made up based on that angle!

why didn't someone just ask? i just bolted a manifold to the mill table then measured the angle of the carb mounting flange, which has to sit level. 15 degrees.

I guess with that instrument you can see how much the angle changes by jacking the car some.

yes sir. Actually, with the hood, a/c, p/s pump, and everything else removed, and the fact that I had it up on jack stands for a few weeks, the front end was already about 1.5" high, but not enough to affect the angle by more then maybe a degree.

btw Guy, 7.99 at Home Depot. Money well spent. There's also a compound angle protractor for 3.97 that's also a great deal and good thing to have around.

wow, been a while since I was in there I guess, that looks like something that costs over 200 dollars from grainger or something..
I wondered how much angle would change with the rest of the car moving, not much huh.
