    What is this??? A20A

i was trying to find an oil leak on my car and noticed a plug i'd never seen before. it's on the back of the engine just right of the oil filter. it had a plug with two wires cut off it. my other engines have the hole but just a bolt filling it. anyone know? i thought knock sensor cause i can't think off anything else it could be....????

never seen that before on any edm engines. can you get a picture of the thing that's bolted in the block?

and try to set your camera in macro mode if it has that.

My Prelude engine has one of those. It's a temp sensor of some kind but I don't know what for. It's not for the fans or the temp gauge; probably one of the myriad of emissions controls.

Cygnus has got it. It's a temp sensor for the solenoid control unit. EFI engines come with just a plug in the block. Check the code on the block, it is probably a A20A1 as opposed to a A20A3.
I just swapped in an A20A3 block in to my weber carbed LX.

as far as i am concerned all carb engines have them. I dont think you can hook a temp sensor up to it either as it probably puts out a weird ass signal

Probably not, unless you can find a temp gauge designed for whatever the temp/resistance curve is for that sensor. And that's only if it's a thermistor type sensor. It could also be just a switch that switches at a particular temperature.
