Not sure if this is the area to post this so bear with me. My heat control with the blue and red will only go halfway then stops. Just wondering how the easieast way to get at that would be? I'd like it fixed before winter.

have you tried spraying the slider with some WD-40 or another lubricant?
carefull, dont force it cuz your stereo wiring harness may be caught in it.
Take the radio out and see if you can spot what the problem is.
You also need to check outside on the firewall, you will see a heater control valve there with heater hoses going to it. The other end of that cable is out there, it may have slipped or need adjustment. Possibly could be broken heater control valve too.
