I'm changing out the brake hose on my front drivers side disc, but i cant get the hose off the nut that attaches it to the metal line. i tried blocking the flat part of the metal that is underneat that bracket on the frame, but every time i try to twist the nut the line just twists. Is there an easy way to remove the hose if its stuck on the line?

PB blaster penetrating spray. USe a torch wrench to get the threads to suck in the penetrating oil.

didnt work. tried a propane torch to heat the nut, still nothing. any other ideas? i tried vise grips already.
umm try a cheater bar and see if it wont brake loos but dont brake the fitting off lol
Did you already remove the retaining clip?

That WILL break the fitting. Those fittings can be stubborn, make sure you have a flare wrench or else you will strip the nut. Just keep soaking it PB blaster. I'd spray some PB blaster on it every hour for a couple of hours. Maybe even leave it over night.

man if vice grips fail that fucker must be tight.
With a propane torch you got to heat it until it starts to smoke which could take 10 mins. Also be wary that the rubber line could swell and pop on you. We used oxy/acet torch up north of course.
At worst you might have to take the line out if the car and use a vise etc. or just end up replacing both parts.

If you have used vise grip then you have probably stripped the nut.
You can always snip the line as close to the nut as possible and then reflare the line with a new nut. Sometimes there is a little extra play in the line for an attempt, worse case senario you'll have to replace the entire line. Get use to this if you stay up north.

you use a flare wrench...i forgot what its called...but it puts pressure on 5 sides of the nut instead of 3
