Problems i may encounter with mods?

hey guys ive decided to buy a 3g i have 1k for the car and 5k for parts
im buying a very healthy 3g and im planning on a small bottle of nitrous pace setter headers pace setter exhaust and i have an electric turbo hiding in my garage, and im planning on a new air intake
will i need a new carb, will these mods cause too much stress on the stock internals?
also will i need somekind of ecu upgrade?
this will be my daily drive so i just want something i can have fun with

Whoa there cowboy, just abit to excited.

    1st Welcome to the board!

If you are planning a DD use Don't put that nitrous in.

Pull a compression check first, fix the carb or replace it.

Pacesetter with some modification is a good choice.

Custom exhaust from the cat back to the muffler would be less expensive, you can even do it yourself someone on here did.

Carburetored 3gens do not have an ECU. If you are planning to run nitrous on a carb'd motor, you will need to upgrade the carburetor for sure. An electric turbo is pointless, you'd be waisting your money trying to get it to work. You're better off doing a correct turbo build if thats what your after.

Very interesting. How did you measure that 27HP? Do you have any more information on that turbo? Where did it come from?

Adding more air doesn't increase power. You need to add more fuel to that air to get real gains, so just having that electric blower wouldn't add anything.

perhaps it was just the air intake i was using?
the reason i dont want to do a real turbo set up is that fact that i want to have the option of disabling it with a switch because my nephew will be driving it once in awhile and i dont trust him with a turbo

the only way to push boost thru a cab is to get a 'blow-through' carb. and those arent made for us, if ya want turbo. get an lxi, its fuel injected...
ya might also think about gettin the head built up a little too...

in my opinion... id start with the heart of the car...the engine...like what itzdave said do some work on the head...bolt on can come later...maybe even rebuit the carb...if enough money some new pistons and rings...do big things now and small things later...

yea that is the plan i always start with internals i learned my lesson thru my friends blown (its sad to see pistons shoot out the hood)supra lol
so i plan on having the car the exact way i want it by spring 09 ill post pics through out the project my plan is to have a sleek and quick car that i can take to the track and still drive it everyday reliably. thanks for your feedback

dont think you will be getting into the 15s range with any of that lol even with all the bolt ones your thinking it will just have enough power to out take an lxi as for the cai you might as well just do the flip lid mod and call it a day
it will be 100x easyer then any other way lol

Go buy a $6k car. I'm not going to lay it out for you, but there are a hell of a lot better cars than a modded 3rd gen accord for $6k.

this has to be a prank call j/k
carbed 86-89 Accords do have ECU's
anybody that can be trusted with 90 hp can be trusted with 190 hp, if they are going to push it to the limits they will do it with anything
if you want more info on blow thru turbos for cars there is a lot more support for it on toyota, simca, opel, mini cooper forums. Also for HOnda redpepperracing dot com.
