keeping the 3gee, need help tho.

I was going to sell my hatch but i changed my mind. now i just need to know what to do next.

my a20 is in reed of a rebuild.....badly.

I wanted to know if i should do a b16 swap. or build the a20.

I can get a full swap for $1300, which i think would be the way to go.

or i know this guy that can bore the a20 to anysize i want for 9 bucks a whole and get my pistons for $300. then i would need a weber, headers, ignition kit, and some head work done.

im only saying go with the b16 cos its $1300 as opposed to a $3400 b16.

i can get an h22 for about $1800. which im thinking about doing.
but dont know what to use for the axles.

i would end up turboing the b16 if i was to get it.

    lmk what you guys think

thats really cheap on the boring, better check that out carefully, you don't want to cheap out on machine work. is that boring only? or does that include the proper cross hatch pattern added. you need the cross hatch pattern to be honed in,this will allow the rings to seat right. also is he going to clean the block? it's really hard to get that grit out, any little bit left will destroy your new engne. you need to drive out every plug on the block, and clean it and clean it,then clean it some more. also buy a gun cleaning kit, and use this to clean every hole in the block. you can't get it clean enough. after it's absoultly spotless inside and outside, coat every bit of it in clean engine oil,and cover it with plastic. or a big oily plastic bag.

he said 9 buck for boring and honing.

I would have to clean it tho. I need a new transmission too. (3 gear grinds like crazy) thats why im wanting to a swap. Im thinking the h22 would be crazy badass. but harder than hell.

may just do the b16. idk.

thats to cheap if you ask me
would expect more like 80 per hole
dunno if its tru, but have been told by some older mechanics that hondas are real fussy bout the honing.
might just be if using oem rings tho

well the b16 has about 170hp. The a20 in my car has 98. so i think it would be a pretty good upgrade. i would be building the b16 and turboing it later anyway.

you would still need a EFI harness in your car...fuel pump and i heard the fuel tank is diferent...also a fuel return line..change clusters and wire up the check engine light...you would need to convert to OBD1 to get it tuned on turbo...lots and lots of stuff

if you're hory just use a stand alone loom, buy a long ass fuel feed line, and get a efi fuel pump and keep the tank full. personally i'd rather have the oem fuel line and a full efi cabin loom

Re: keeping the 3gee, need help tho.

so i guess it would be cheaper to just build the a20 insted of swaping it.

how much power do you guys think i would be making with a weber 38, 5 angle valve job, port and polish, stage 3 cam with adjustable gear, .50 over bore, headers, and an msd ignition system.

also is there a how to on installing acura gears in the 3gee case? the search thing doesnt work.

you just need the 86-89 acura integra gears...i did it to my trans and it cost me about 1200 bucks

    9 pound flywheel
    stage 3 clutch
rebuilt trans with integera gears and accord 5th gear.
