    No.

    Yes!

Gotta keep the old distributor because the ECU needs the crank sensor inside it.

It's gotta move. The trigger wheel uses the PS pulley. The sucky thing is that I have to add an idler pulley if I don't want the belt to slip. The complexity of the project just doubled.

Anyone know why the accessory brackets are so massively overbuilt on this engine? The PS and AC brackets are serious chunks of cast steel. It's like they were built for a 700HP engine.

Looks centered to me. If I'm wrong, the broken belts will tell me.

So AI is pretty cool. I learned that I need 60% of belt contact to turn my pulleys reliably. I'm closer to half that without an idler pulley. I also learned that I need one of these get good alignment:

    Always more to do...

If you know of a way to verify pulley alignment that doesn't involve a $200 tool, I'm all ears LOL.

    Straight edge or a level?

Oddly my co worker at work old Ford pickup shreaded the belt twice. We had to shim the power steering pump a little or the belt would run off a rib.

After 22 years who knows why.
